Patrick Lalime starting in goal tomorrow night
From the CBH.com front page:
Patrick Lalime will get the nod in net Wednesday night vs. Columbus. Lalime earned the win against the Blue Jackets last week stopping 24 of 26 shots.
I'm not sure I understand this move. Despite Lalime playing well against Columbus last time out, Nikolai Khabibulin had a very strong night against Detroit and it was definitely a performance for him to build some confidence from. If I were Savard, I would definitely give Khabby the start tomorrow night.

I didn't understand why Lalime...
...didn't start against Detroit. He's been the hot hand of late, and given his stats against the Jackets and Savard's affinity for playing the matchup, it makes sense to me. No disrespect to Khabi, there's certainly nothing wrong with having two good goaltenders though.

I was looking for
Lalime to start on Sunday, I was surprised to see Khabibulin start, but then when Khabby has a great game, if i'm Savard I have to reward him with another start, he's been in kind of a funk and I think that performance against Detroit was what he needed to snap out of it.

I'll have to agree
with both of you! I was expecting Lalime on Sunday but being that Khabby started and played well, I would think that you'd want to feed off that momentum get the NHL's highest paid goalie some playing time while he's flying high.
Nothing wrong with two good goaltenders but there is a problem when the one getting paid the most is playing just as much as his backup. If 'Bulin is going to go through bad stretches and get benched, you need to get while the gettin's good.
