Could Havlat be back this homestand?

Tim Kavanagh mentions in his ESPN fantasy hockey article:

Martin Havlat, RW, Blackhawks: A little birdie (aka a report in the vaunted Chicago Tribune) told me that Havlat may be back in the active lineup at some point during the current Chicago homestand this week.

Wow, sure didn't expect Havlat back already. We'll see if anything actually comes of it, but wouldn't it be something if he was in the lineup for that much anticipated televised home game against Detroit on Sunday? I sure hope Kavanagh (and the Chicago Tribune) is right on this one.

Nice to see...

a Blackhawk blog finally here.  Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough but another place to talk Blackhawk hockey is always a good thing.

As far as getting Havlat back...  While it's certainly (and quite obviously) a good thing to get him back in action, I hope he's not being rushed back to try and 'jumpstart' this team a bit.  I'm just worried about the frailty (sp?) of that shoulder.  The way it popped out so easily in that first game -- it didn't even look like a whole lot happened, other than a little shove to the back -- makes me fear what'll happen the first time Marty gets checked shoulder-first into the boards.

In any case, here's to hoping for the best.  We don't need him to be as phenomenal as he was last year (when he was on the ice).  Heck, he doesn't even need to PK anymore.  We just need him to be good enough to solidify a second scoring line after the RTK line.

As far as him being rushed

I agree that it is a concern on whether or not that shoulder of his is ready for actual game contact. I'm such a big fan of him but he's proven to be quite fragile so far and he really needs to prove he can stay healthy. If he comes back and can play at the level we know he can, our offense will not be a problem.

Just thinking about the top two lines

Something like

Havlat/Lang/Sharp or Williams
Toews/Kane/Ruutu

makes me drool
