Toews and Seabrook will wear A's this month
From ChicagoBlackhawks.com:
Brent Seabrook and Jonathan Toews share the same address. Now the roomies get to share the same letter on their sweaters as well.
Blackhawks head coach Denis Savard announced Monday that Seabrook and Toews would wear the alternate captain's 'A' for the month of December along with veteran winger Martin Lapointe, who has worn the letter all season with a pair of rotating alternates.
Savard admitted he had not planned for the rookie Toews to wear a letter this soon, but said the 19 year-old had "earned it." Savard admires Toews' work ethic on and off the ice as much as he does his 10 goals and 10 assists in 24 games.
Good move, because I think both of these guys have proven to be young leaders for this team and it's already been said that Toews will be a captain sooner or later, perhaps as early as next season. Seabrook has been said to be a vocal leader in the locker room and also on the ice, and is turning into a good young defenseman. It's pretty amazing that guys this young are already prepared to take on leadership roles on this team.

Great move
by Savard. First of all, Seabrook deserves this based on his play and development in the past two seasons. And while Kane has had the better offensive season, Toews has been extremely solid overall in this young season. I can't wait until he becomes the Captain and Kane is the Assistant. Young and exciting leadership will be great for this team and is just what they need to energize Blackhawk nation.
Winning also helps as well.

The future is now
Either Toews or Seabrook will be wearing the "C" someday. Maybe even as soon as Lapointe departs the Windy City.

I agree...
...and I wouldn't mind seeing Lapointe gone soon.

And it's really too bad
because he's a great guy and he's never done something that makes me say, "Get this guy off my team." He's just a warm body out there on the ice though. However, I suppose it's better that we don't notice him as much for not making plays compared to how much we would notice him if he were committing turnovers that resulted in goals.
