Q&A with Josh Mora

Friend of the site  Josh Mora has graciously accepted an invitation to answer some of our questions.  Or, more to the point, answer YOUR questions.  So over the next couple days those of you who have anything you want Josh to answer, please leave your question in the comments section of this story/article/whatever it's called, and we'll send the best ones along to Josh.

We're hoping to do this throughout the season with a variety of surprise guests, so let's make the first one a high bar to reach for future ones.

He does the pre and post games and other reporting for the Hawks on Comcast SportsNet here in Chicago. He also wrote a kid’s book called “The Magic Uniform” that’s raising money for charity.

Actually, this isn't something Mora

would probably know off the bat, but it’s something I’ve been wondering about the past few days. What does the NHL do if it rains on New Years Day? I know its somewhat unlikely, especially given today’s 10 degree temps. But its not completely out of the question.

It must have been discussed by the Hawks/NHL, but I haven’t seen it anywhere. Since Mora has direct access with the team, I’d be interested in seeing if he knows anything or could find out.

Here's one

As a journalist, were you concerned that writing a children’s book about the team you cover could be seen as a conflict of interest?

Just have to say...

You might have the best user name I’ve ever seen. And I say that with a staunch record of heterosexuality.

Thanks

My friend used it as his team name in fantasy baseball a few years back and I’ve adopted it since…

my fantasy team this year was Two Mannings One Cup

it won me the 50 bucks from the league for best name.
I won the year before with Bad Newz Kennels

I am actually a fan of Josh Mora

and I hate about all announcers except for my namesake. He used to get stuck doing sideline reporting where the CBOE seats are (and those are terrible seats.)

I have two questions in which I am interested to hear his response. And a third I’d like to know.
1. Has your experience as a former college hockey player made it easier to be a postgame show host?
2. With so many new Hawk fans being new to hockey as well, do you feel like more basic explanations are needed during segments?
3. Kerry Sayers, Gail Fisher, or Sarah Kustok?
