Hossa signs with Detroit

Both ESPN & TSN are reporting Hossa and the Red Wings have agreed on a 1-year deal for $7.4M.

He reportedly turned down both a $9M/year offer from Edmonton as well as a 5-year deal from Pittsburgh for over $35M.

We've certainly improved in the past 24 hours, but this is a solid response by Detroit.  This was the last place I would hope he'd end up.

I just heard about this...

Damn, that sucks…I didn’t even know Detroit was seriously in the running for Hossa. And a one year deal? Wow, I thought he was looking for long term.

I can agree with that...

I think it’s gonna be an interesting year in the Central.
