Scotty Bowman to be named Senior Advisor

The Blackhawks are holding a press conference at the UC today at 2pm.  Check out the details here

Scotty Bowman is a 9-time Stanley Cup Winner.  I love the moves this team is making on the ice and off!  The season can't come soon enough!

11 days till single game seats go onsale, who here plans on going to the home opener?  I heard season tickets have tripled from last years sales already!

I think this is a great move

watching the press conference right now, this is a surprise move and I think we are bringing in a great hockey guy to run the hockey operations. Another awesome move for the organization!

Not really a surprise

It had been rumored for months.

Bowman did say he was comfortable in Detroit

I was surprised that he ended up coming here after he shot down the rumors before.

Props to Scotty. He brought Pitt a Cup and hopefully he can do the same for you guys (preferably not against the Pens).

I wouldn't be shocked...

...if you see Bowman behind the bench if the Hawks struggle under Savard.

I know he is 74 going on 75, but you can tell this guy has some passion left in the tank and his passion has always been coaching.

That may be a possibility

I didn’t really think about that. I’m not sure if he is still open to coaching, but if he were maybe that could happen. I’m not a huge fan of Savard myself.
