They don't seem to see... The blues is all I play... The blues don't bother me

OPPOSITION BLOG: St. Louis Game Time
DON’T FORGET:  YOUR SPG PICKS (3 MORE NEEDED TO CATCH THE LEAFS)

Just thought I'd put up another gameday thread for all of you who might want to comment on the game as it goes on.  A preview is here.

Also be sure to check out the St. Louis Game Time for their take on it.  They're a good group of guys.. just a little misguided.

for those blacked out or without WGN

http://atdhe.net/live-tv-2.php?i=669

for some reason WGN is showing some shitty movie instead of the hawks game here in Iowa. weird.

by mjthor on Jan 17, 2009 7:26 PM CST reply actions

Is it the superstation out there? I think they only show the Hawks on the Chicago station.

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 7:35 PM CST up reply actions

I guess so

Iowa TV is fucking terrible. I pay $7 a month for the HD package, which includes all of 11 HD channels. I feel like everything is five years behind in this state.

by mjthor on Jan 17, 2009 7:38 PM CST up reply actions

thankfully

this stream of the game is pretty damn good video quality. Unfortunately it’s Blues announcers, but oh well.

by mjthor on Jan 17, 2009 7:39 PM CST up reply actions

justin.tv usually has Hawks games on there too.. I use it when I’m out of town

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 7:41 PM CST up reply actions

Homertv is good too

the best site to find feeds is www.myp2p.eu

they usually have Sopcast feeds of every game, but if they don’t, all you have to do is check the forums.

by mjthor on Jan 17, 2009 7:42 PM CST up reply actions

That’s because it is. North-central Missouri is the same way. The midwest is prone to sucking like that when it comes to anything technological.

by Dan. on Jan 18, 2009 3:11 PM CST up reply actions

I've only driven through Missouri

and it was a miserable enough experience to make me never want to stop my car there. I guess a lot of people feel that way about Iowa, though… so I can sympathize.

by mjthor on Jan 18, 2009 8:10 PM CST up reply actions

nice.

got it sync’ed up with WGN 720 feed

I lied.

Its not working.

haha alright

as long as I’m not missing something. I wish I could delay the video like two minutes so it would sync up

by mjthor on Jan 17, 2009 7:53 PM CST up reply actions

Is that Sharp’s first fight this year? He did alright… not a win.. but probably a draw

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 7:42 PM CST reply actions

first one I've seen

really awesome to see guys sticking up for teammates lately. Sharpie drawing/not getting destroyed by a guy much bigger than him is good too

by mjthor on Jan 17, 2009 7:44 PM CST up reply actions

I’m actually getting sick of these fights after clean hits…

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 7:45 PM CST up reply actions

Wow

Long fight. Couple of good punches by Sharpie.

by HappyHuman on Jan 17, 2009 7:42 PM CST reply actions

Another fight..

another draw… I’m glad that last punched missed

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 7:53 PM CST reply actions

Not that I could see

Maybe something left over from the last game

by HappyHuman on Jan 17, 2009 7:55 PM CST up reply actions

yeah.. they fought in the last game. I think there’s just still some bad blood between these teams.

yeah.. they fought in the last game. I think there’s just still some bad blood between these teams.I like having this rivalry come back.

they better get their heads out of their ass

and put a shot on net

I hope that doesn’t get called a goal.

by HappyHuman on Jan 17, 2009 8:39 PM CST reply actions

no goal...

but I think the Hawks got a break on that one..

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 8:41 PM CST up reply actions

Holy shit, we dodged a bullet

I can’t believe they didn’t call that a goal. You could see by the way Huet’s wrist flexed that the puck was in the very tip of the glove… it was definitely a goal.

by mjthor on Jan 17, 2009 8:41 PM CST reply actions

Great kill..

Love seeing them go on the power play now too

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 8:44 PM CST reply actions

Hawks are getting sooooo lucky

St. Louis is blowing every scoring chance they get.

by HappyHuman on Jan 17, 2009 9:08 PM CST reply actions

no shit..

hopefully they pick it up for the third.. they’re probably tired though

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 9:11 PM CST up reply actions

Hey Phruits

We may be misguided in your book, but we’ve never rooted for Michel Goulet.

And I’m pretty sure the Blues should have had a goal from that replay with the glove in the net, but I agreed that there was no visual proof that the puck scored.

When will Rod Blagoogorvich be posting tonight?

by Brad Lee on Jan 17, 2009 9:46 PM CST reply actions

Not every Illinois resident voted for Blago

Personally I wish they’d skip the trial and just throw that scumbag in prison.

by HappyHuman on Jan 17, 2009 9:49 PM CST up reply actions

Threatening children’s hospitals isn’t very cool.

by Brad Lee on Jan 17, 2009 9:56 PM CST up reply actions

no.. but holding a press conference while bringing a bunch of random sick people on stage with you is kind of badass in how ridiculous it is.

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 10:01 PM CST up reply actions

dude is nuts

see what happens when your hair calls the shots?

by surveyor on Jan 17, 2009 10:07 PM CST up reply actions

Phruits?

Are you scared of the SBN anti-homophobia rules? Or just a giant Phish fan?

Blago is too busy planning his next enormously ballsy move to post here tonight.. maybe next game

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 9:54 PM CST up reply actions

I forgot for a second where I was. Our Answer Man has a nickname for soft and/or European players. He calls them Phruit Euros. And then we just shortened it to Phruits.

Fear the Osh.

by Brad Lee on Jan 17, 2009 9:57 PM CST up reply actions

The Hawks fucking suck in OT.. lets hope that changes soon.

Note to all Hawks – please don’t take any penalties

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 10:01 PM CST reply actions

Can we all agree

That the Hawks/Blues rivalry is back and in full effect?

And it’s about damn time.

by Brad Lee on Jan 17, 2009 10:02 PM CST reply actions

fuck you…

how’s that?

Yeah.. i’m very glad this is a rivalry again. Now if you guys could just not have everyone injured

by Matthew Dirt on Jan 17, 2009 10:03 PM CST up reply actions

Yea...

Now if you guys could just not have everyone injured

Trust me, you’re not the only one who wishes the Blues weren’t icing a largely AHL roster.

Fuck Detroit, and good luck until the Blues meet your Blackhawks again.

by Dan. on Jan 18, 2009 3:19 PM CST up reply actions

RE: Fuck Detroit

at least we can agree on something.

also, fuck you!

by mjthor on Jan 18, 2009 8:09 PM CST up reply actions

I'm not quite there yet

The face smashing is a good start.

Meet us in the playoffs, and I think we might be closer.

by surveyor on Jan 17, 2009 10:04 PM CST up reply actions

Well that sucked.

Good win. And I bet Havlat goes to IR on that play.

Like I said, glad to have the rivalry back. We’ll see you later.

by Brad Lee on Jan 17, 2009 10:03 PM CST reply actions

Good game.. great to see a win in OT.. I’ll be back tomorrow to post a recap.. right now it’s time to go drink more..

night all
