'O Lang, Where Art Thou?
While updating my fantasy hockey team I noticed that Robert Lang (yeah the same Robert Lang we traded in September for ONLY a 2nd round draft pick) is currently leading the Canadiens with 36 points. To add to that he has 11 points (5 goals and 6 assists) in his last seven games.
I just wanted to point that out and share with the group, cause it slightly pisses me off. Especially after being at last nights horrendous demonstration at the UC.

i miss Lang too
Unfortunately, Lang was traded because of salary cap issues, not because we only wanted a second round pick.

Still...
I think there could have been other “expendable” players with higher salaries we could have got rid of other than him

Whom are you speaking of?
They tried to ship off Khabibulin to find no takers. The market for Havlat was nil. They weren’t going to trade Byfuglien or Sopel after just resigning them. Barker is still a younger defenseman and a 1st round pick. Am I missing anyone else?

And I wouldn't say ONLY
a 2nd round pick. If the ’Hawks use the pick correctly, the player will give them far more use than the one or two years they were going to get for Robert Lang.

Apparently
the trade was to free up cap space to bring up Cam Barker. Hopefully after the ASB Walker gets sent down and Barker stays up. I made a fanpost after the trade where I felt Lang was the second most experienced playoff player we have behind Khabby so from that perspective I wasn’t a fan. But he took lots of shifts off and was poor on D from time to time.

What about Steegs
I doubt that Steegs would have been on the roster with Lang. Especially with Quenneville’s desire for physicality, Brouwer probably would have been the choice. Thoughts?

with Steeger being on the roster on opening day and Brouwer not...
I would disagree. Also Q has scratched Brouwer consistently lately.

He’s on a hot streak lately so now you want him back? Screw him. The canadians can keep Lazy Lang. Did anyone watch him play last year?

Now?
What do you mean lately? He’s been on my fantasy team since he was with us in the begining of the season and he hasn’t slowed down yet! Who cares about last year!

May I remind you
Lang and Versteeg have the exact same amount of points.
No one would bring this up if not for the struggles of Kane and Sharp.

You're right
Just need something to complain about. We’ll be fine and I can’t wait till the playoffs. But with no games till next week i figured it would be good disscussion.

Robert Lang gone is a good thing..
Come on people….Robert Lang has no place on the current Blackhawks roster.. He is slow now, he was slow as a Blackhawk..If he was a Hawk this year you would be complaining about how slow he was. Remember how good Brent Slow Pel looked last year. He looked awful in the few games he played this year because of this teams overall speed and talent. Let me put it to you this way also…If Detroit gets rid of a player you can be damn sure that they are about washed up…(Robert Lang) The Robert Lang I watched last year was dreadfully slow and scored randomly. Anyone can have a hot streak during a season, especially with the team in Montreal. He wasnt that great on faceoffs either, so please tell me where you would put Robert Lang in the lineup, and who you would sit down in favor of him…..Besides Dustyn BUM Lin………
