Around SBN: Tiger Woods Makes His 2012 PGA Tour Debut

That's bad news - I'd think we see them both miss the game tomorrow night.

But Kuc isn't a total buzzkill - he does say Hossa was out there skating and actually playing the puck... so.. happy friday?

Hossa

I’m hoping he’s in the lineup for the ‘Nucks slaughter Nov.22. Perhaps Eager too? The bad taste just won’t go away.

Me too

I have tickets for that game….I have to be careful that I’m not so pro-Hawk that I get my ass kicked.

I hear ya.

My Hawks games all take place in Calgary as it’s the nearest city to me. My wife grew up in Vancouver (fully converted Hawk fan now) so there’s always an option of catching the odd game there too. Canuck fans seem a little more real than Flamers. Too many suits and empty corporate seats in the Giant Panty Liner stadium.

Well, this is bad.

We lose both of these guys for a length of time, and its time to reevaluate our playoff seed.

Yeah.
Since Hossa is replacing Havlat, and is out, we are effectively missing our leading scorer, experiencing goaltending issues, and have had a lackluster power play.

And we’re 5-3-1, blowing a 3rd period lead to prevent us from being 6-2-1.

I know I’m a broken record, but I just don’t get the angst everyone has. It’s early. We’re in good shape. Relax.

Clearly that was predicated on keeping Toews and Seabs in the lineup.

Thus, the qualifier, “We lose both of these guys for a length of time” was placed prior to my statement.

I don't have a problem with Towes missing some time over the next week.

I don’t have a problem with Toews missing the game. If he has a concussion he needs to take care of it. Especially since they are planning on resigning him to a long term deal. Concussions aren’t something you should really mess around with. Missing him in the line up sucks, but I would rather him get heathly in the early going of the season here versus him missing games in the later part of the season due to reoccuring symptoms, then he is plagued with this for the rest of his carreer.

This is what happend to Lindros, 1 concussion that wasn’t taken care of approprately led to numerous others as well as constant symptoms.

It's THE GOAALLLIEEE!!!!!

Not me, I’d much prefer they rush him back early. Guy’s faking it anyway.

Nashville (X2), Minnesota, Montreal and then a week off.

Looking at the next 2 weeks it really couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m all for getting everyone healthy. Bring some of the futures up for a skate or two and get everyone on the IR well rested. Hopefully Huet will have sobered up by then too. November’s sched. is far more daunting with the Pred’s (who’d have guessed?), Colorado, L.A., & San Jose all up within the first two weeks. Rest well wounded soldiers.

I was thinking something very similar..

I don’t want to jinx anything, but I see us winning the next four games*, even if they come down to high scoring affairs (6 – 5, 7 – 5, etc)…I know it’searly in the season, and anything can happen on the ice, but the rest of this month looks pretty soft…

  • I think I can make this prediction, as hockey gods only smite fanboy hubris in the playoffs, and not the regular season…I could be wrong though, so in the event that we lose one of these games, feel free to blame me for it

I was at the practice

for a little bit, til I had to run. Got there early and caught some of Hossa’s workout. He is definitely looking like a guy who will be back in a couple of weeks.
