Don't know if you saw this, but John agrees there is something special about being a part of Hawks Nation.

That's one way to ingratiate yourself to Hawk fans

Another is to play hockey the way John Madden has played since coming here. Add ’em together and you have a fan favorite. Well played, sir.

That's pretty cool.

Coming from such a no b.s. guy as Mr. Madden. Okay, group hug.

This makes me love Madden even more.

I hope we can extend his contract past a year.

Great read

Love this guy as a player, hopefully the team can find a way to keep him here until his playing days are over

Lets Go Hawks!

I definitely ordered the right jersey!

Can’t wait to wear it with pride!

If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning

Thanks Madden!

As a life-long Blackhawks fan for over 20 years that was one of the best stories I’ve ever read for it’s pretty fucking awesome that a player on this team can equate the fans as friends. I guess that what seperates hockey with other sports is that the players do no always feel that their above anyone, even the fans.
So with that thank-you John Madden and hopefully this year isn’t your last year in Chicago. Class act all the way!
Thanks SamFels for posting this as well.

It's never about the eventual destination, but rather the long journey and its challenging obstacles that are presented and what it takes to overcome them, that makes the taste of success all the more worthwhile!!!

Madden was the best offseason move of all

He’s a real hockey player of the mold that is great to have in Chicago. Just his presence is huge on this roster full of young 20 somethings trying to acclimate and find success in the NHL.

Madden is awesome!

How can anyone not like him? Hopefully he’ll be a great influence on the young team.

on wearing the A...

“Everybody is a leader in their own way,” Madden said. “As long as you come to the rink and prepare like a professional and play like a professional, you’re going to get respect, and that’s what being a leader is.”

Love it.
