Question - Bars in Chicago
Hello All,
I am a Hawks fan living in Canada, visiting Chicago for the first time in a few weeks. We are going to a game on one night, but there is a game another night when we're there that I would like to see in a bar of some kind that has good Hawks atmosphere. Any suggestions?
One thing to note is that my sister is coming with me and she isn't the biggest sports fan....
Thanks all!

Lets see...
The two bars that come to mind right away are West End and The Third Rail. Both are located on Madison Ave just east of the United Center.

I go to West End whenever I go to a Hawks game. We should meet up there sometime.

I like the BeerBistro as well… which is right in the same area as all those other bars. They’re all right by the UC though.
Where are you staying while you’re here?

i second beer bistro
plenty of tv’s, very comfortable setup, and if the people who you’re going with really like beer, they’ll have a lot to like about this place

I would say the west end for sure. Its a great atmosphere and there is usually a good number of hot chicks.

the “official” bars are listed on the Hawks site:

I don’t know what it means beyond the fact that these’ll definitely be showing the games. I never go to sports bars, but I’d be willing to try out a place that has the Hawks on, because otherwise all I’ve got are the rare WGN-TV broadcasts and whatever I can find on the internet…

if your looking for the “atmosphere” then I would agree with the previously mentioned ones.
However, Madison in general does not have much going on. There are ton of bars you could go to that will have the game on but also allow your sister to do her thing.
I always really enjoyed mcgees…

If you go to McGees, you're doing it more so your sister has a chance to pick
up some college/fresh-out-of-college-so-essentially-still-in-college jackass, than to watch the Hawks game in a bar.

Hawkeye's????
That may be a good place. You may find Ed Belfour there, getting liquored up….

Nah
I think Eddie probably likes getting his boozing on at Hoops in downtown Peoria seeing as he’s the new Rivermen goalie coach….. can’t wait to see him out some night!
