Still would like to get a hotel room booked if anyone’s working on a group rate or block. And as it gets closer to the date, may have room in the car for others if they need a ride.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning
Cool.
I smoke though. And no eating or drinking is allowed in the car unless it’s very clean like water or black coffee. Or I guess Vodka. ;) And I stop to pee. A lot. And I tend to drive a little (OK a lot) fast, and always get lost in St. Louis.
Other than that it’s pretty fun. hee hee.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning
St. Louis' lack of real grided streets is annoying
I got lost constantly the first few months I lived here.

Can I eat a sausage biscuit with egg in your car???

Ken doll,
You’re kinda freaking me out. here with the stalking bit. Penis or no penis, I am not into Ken Dolls (only cabana boys) and I’m old, married and chubby. And short.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning
my crew and me will be amtraking...
…we leave 9 or 10 Sat. morning and it looks like we’re taking the 430AM back on Sunday morning…FYI, the Sheraton is a block from the train and 3 blocks from the Scooter-trade Center.

LMFAO
Check out the photos of Burish, Sharpie, Kaner, and Toews on PuckDaddy for Halloween. Fucking hilarious!
It's never about the eventual destination, but rather the long journey and its challenging obstacles that are presented and what it takes to overcome them, that makes the taste of success all the more worthwhile!!!
Hotel
So anyone want to work on getting a group rate? What’s the hotel that’s across the street? Anyone interested in staying there? I’ve only stayed at the Drury when I’ve been in St. Louis. Oh wait, and the Ramada or something like that once.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning
hotels
I have a database of hotels that priceline and hotwire use.
If you plan on using either of the sites, im 90% sure I can identify the hotel before you book.
I’m working with a buddy to launch a site to allow people to figure out the hotel before they book,
It will eventually be at www.hotelgumshoe.com but if anyone here is planning on looking for a hotel on either those sites, drop me a line and I can manually look them up for the Feb trip.
Second City Hockey
Fantastic....
This is great I use priceline all the time.
also, about STL
I lived there for a bit in 2007, traffic is usually super smooth, so you can definately stay at a hotel away from downtown if you want to save some $. I lived in The Hill and got to a Rams / Packers game on a sunday in like 20 mins max, we ended up at the stadium like 2 hrs early. I guess I’m too used to chicago traffic.
Second City Hockey
also..
if you see me wearing a blues jersey it’s because of that 6 months I lived there. And a special Blues fan, that I am forever indebted to.
Second City Hockey
Don't hide your feelings.
You have a secret man crush for Bernie Federko.
The past is for cowards and fools....
I would love to join you guys, but Im soo tied up with..
construction on my new house and it would not be in my budget.
Soo now Toews still hasn't practiced...
and looks like he will not play this thursday…I new this shit was going to happen. From being able to play two weeks ago to nearly a month now. I was saying it all along they are going to carry this for a while. When are they going to take off the diapers and let him play.
You don't fuck with concussions...
thats why he hasn’t played. Let him recover completely. Why risk it with the guy who is most likely the franchise player of the future for the hawks?
He is ready the day after he is ready
Don’t mess with the brain -bucket…..bringing him back too early will have devastating consequences
Seriously???
Who let this guy in here? Come on man…. you don’t want his brain to turn into mush do you? I’d keep him out as long as possible.
When I saw that hit I told me wife it’ll be close to a month.
Because if you don't properly heal a concussion,
he’ll end up making posts like yours.

Sheraton
A bunch of us from IndiahHeadNation are going to be in St. Louis for this game (50+) and most of us are staying at the Sheraton. It’s literally a block away from the rink and it’s pretty reasonable at about $107 for the night (about $120 with taxes).
TY
Got a phone number or anything or group rate I could be a part of? I can check online, too.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning
EWWW
That’s a non-smoking hotel.
I reserved a room at the Drury Arch hotel – stayed there many times before really like it. Smoking rooms and a better rate. 10 blocks to Scottrade Center. I think I can walk that. Not sure, may crawl or have someone carry me.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning
Group Rates
Getting a group rate at a hotel is a lot more work then the tickets… I don’t think the crew at Indian Head Nation got one and I don’t think we will either. I think there are plenty of people who have different plans so it wouldn’t make sense to go with a group rate here..
So.. you’re on your own…
Yeah, that's OK
I used to get group rates there, but I had a contact person. I don’t have contacts anymore, but if people express an interest I can work on it to see what I can do. I just am not familiar with the area or any other hotels down there.
But thanks Matt & Sam and all for making this happen!
If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning
Which?
I’m used to the one at Drury, IIRC it is a PITA but I’ll just have to park once.
Do you have suggestions for other hotels, I was too tired to do any good google searches and the Scottrade Center site didn’t have anything for nearby hotels.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning
I don't really know the Drury
I’m assuming you mean the actual Drury, and not the “Pear Tree Inn by Drury” which is about the same distance from the DrinkScotch. While I’ve never stayed at the Pear Tree, it has a restaurant called Sybergs connected, which is a common pre-game spot for Blues fans and has a shuttle to get people to the game.
The Sheraton is like 100 yards from the arena and while not bad, the parking is awful.
There are two Hilton’s downtown. The Hilton at the Ballpark is like six blocks from the arena, has nice rooms, and isn’t too expensive. Hilton Downtown has small rooms and is on the otherside of downtown.
There’s a Marriott at Union Station, which is pretty close to the arena. I’ve never been, but have heard it’s pricey.
There are more, but those are just the ones downtown I’m familiar with. Personally, if I didn’t live a Metrolink away, I’d stay at either Pear Tree or Hilton at the Ballpark.
Chicagoan in the Lou.
Hmmm.
TY. Yeah, the downtown Drury (but not the convention center) the one at 4th and Market is where I’ve stayed before and where I booked. I’ll take a look at the other ones. I forgot February may not be the best walking weather for a 10 block walk, lol. Then again, I can cab it too. For me, this’ll probably end up cheaper and prolly more fun that if I were to go to the UC.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning
listen...
I’m only commenting about Toews because, they said he could have played the game following the concussion, I’m a banker and If I told my customer, well you could see your money in your account by this week and then not see it for nearly a month, you would be ticked. They could have have sad he is day to day from day one. Original Six, buddy by the looks of your picture, you have no room to make a comment like that, trailer park peckerwood.
?
That’s a terrible analogy. Banking has nothing to do with a players health. The Hawks are still winning without Toews. No need to rush him back. By the way, this post is about a trip to St. Louis in February. What does Toews’s concussion have to do with that?
yeah..
piss-poor analogy. Do you get pissed off if a pregnant woman misses her due-date?
I don’t think anyone has said that Toews could have played following the concussion either – just that it’s possible… turns out he wasn’t.
hey remeber that one time...............
waaaaay back when (like all of a couple weeks ago)……………………when you went off on a name calling tirade and said you weren’t coming back to this blog and encouraged people to go read your cousin’s blog cause it is sooo much better………..and then you came back and appologized and basically said you were an idiot……………….yeah.
"If you're scared, go buy a dog" - Stacey King
you know what
this economy collapsed because of bankers that made promises they couldn’t keep.
so piss off.

The fact that redtribe became a banker should have been a warning sign.
Got more soul than a sock with a hole.
LOLOL at Matt....
dude your commenting on my analogy…why you want a pregnant woman to miss her due date..lolol you must like being treated like a slave lololol!! MAtt that was the dumbest analogy I have ever heared yet every one in here is going to like yours because this is your site. OOO god, followers followers.
an explanation for the slow..
Returning from a concussion isn’t something you can really judge… there aren’t set dates for rehabbing like returning from a broken bone or surgery. With concussions it’s hard to diagnose how severe they are and how long it’ll take a certain person to heal. So you guess – you’ll say, “yeah, he could be back this weekend” but when conditions don’t improve you just play it by ear… it’s not like Toews is fine and they’re keeping him off the ice on purpose… He’s not right in the head – did you see what Burish convinced him to wear this weekend?
Likewise – a due-date is kind of a guess. But sometimes kids are born early, sometimes they’re born later. Personally I missed my due date by over a week.. it happens. Therefore that’s why I make the analogy. Guessing when someone will return from a concussion is kind of like guessing what day a baby will be born… it’s a guess.
I have no idea what the slave comment means.. but I’m sure in your world it makes a ton of sense. Good for you.
Finally – please feel free to never come to this site again if you’re sick of people jumping down your throat. You’re giving your opinions that almost no one agrees with because.. well.. they’re wrong. When someone makes a joke about you you overreact. So either chill the fuck out or go away.. your choice
My wife was a week early with our baby
and she is now my slave. So…I get it.

I have kept my word. I would had promised I would do the same. thats all. Now if someone says something to me thats personal., then I have the right to bash back….said that lets move on. ;)

What the...?
Miss a day and miss another arguement. Ladies and gentlemen it’s still early November and if Toews needs the whole month to recover from his concussion then so be it. If the Hawks are to achieve as much as they expected to then it would be wise to keep Toews out of the lineup until he is 100% healthy to return. In the grand scheme of things games in November are significantly lower in terms of importance and to rush back any player from injury would be nonsense at this point.
The reason why Kessel has returned so early from his injury is because the Leafs are in dire straits right now and need of victories, and fast, for if they don’t then there is no playoffs for them at all.
It's never about the eventual destination, but rather the long journey and its challenging obstacles that are presented and what it takes to overcome them, that makes the taste of success all the more worthwhile!!!
Kessel
He actually looked pretty good out there last night – even after getting rocked. Who knows if it’ll really hold up but everything looked good last night.
I agree with you on that as he had 10 shots on goal last night and plenty of scoring chances as he showed why the Leafs were willing to give up what they did in order to get him.
Make no mistake though if the Leafs were .500 or better they might have been more cautious with Kessel and may have kept him out a little longer. But that’s a strong if and the Leafs aren’t anywhere near .500.
