Tickets to the 12/27 Game

I'm not entirely sure this is what the fan post is supposed to be used for, so if I'm doing it wrong then I hope it gets deleted (it's only right).

Remember all those boring games against the Predators? Of course you don't. If you're even on this site, it means you probably know enough about hockey that you know good hockey when you see it, and those games haven't exactly been it. Apparently the folks on the Blackhawks ticket exchange don't know that, because they're trying to sell tickets in the last row of the 300 level for almost $60 a pop.

This is my plea to you, the good people of Second City Hockey. I've got a friend who's looking for tickets for this game for her boyfriend as a Christmas present. If you've got two extras you're willing to sell, for somewhere a little closer to face value than "double," against a team that is not only bad, but also the Hawks' opponent the night before in Nashville.

This wouldn't be a gift for him, my old pal Dave. This would be a gift for every guy who grew up on Roenick and is now dying a slow death where his girlfriend makes him watch The Holiday so often he's convinced he actually likes it (classic case of Stockholm Syndrome. It's sad is what it is). This is a gift for all of us.

If you can help, please shoot an email over to accordingtwomey AT gmail DOT com. Thanks again all.

Personally

I find this to be a totally appropriate use of a fanpost, I just wish that I could help you, but I have no tickets to sell or give (or use :( )

wait what?

Sorry, man

I’ve already sold my tickets to my best friend’s roommate. :\

Is no one at all interested in the December 31 game? I still have those tickets and I really want to go but I won’t even be in Chicago. Meh.

I fail at timing

sorry, as soon as I got home last night StubHub told me they’ve been sold.

The Ticket Exchange

really only has decent prices on the day of the game as people get more desperate to unload them. If she’s willing to just pledge to buy some that day odds are they will be affordable, but you just don’t know. If she really needs them in advance the best avenue is Craigslist, but the worst time for Craigslist prices are during Christmas season where the sellers know they can charge a premium to holiday shoppers. So just make a point of searching a few times a day until you find something in your price range.

Yeah – I would keep an eye on ticket exchange because prices will drop eventually. I’ve had a lot of good luck with Craigslists ticket section too. I was able to find Maple Leaf tickets the day of for face value… there are deals out there if you look for ’em.

Oh, and this is a perfect use of a fanshot in my book

That Morning

I concur Mathew and Scott. I look for tickets on Stubhub, Craigslist, and Ticket Exchange starting late on the night before the event, up until a couple hours before it starts. This is when everyone gets really desperate to make even a little money

Stubhub

does have good deals the day of. I got a 100 level seat for $50, the only thing you have to be weary of is that their game day convenience fees shoot up to $15.

Just tell her to tell him that she’s going to take him out for the game…dinner/watch at a place that will actually play it with sound. and that way, if she can score them day of, plans will change and they can actually go. like many others have said- day of is always the most reasonable. Last week I was looking for tickets for the game against Calgary (coming up in April), they were around $20 for 300 level, today they’re around $45 or so. In short, CHRISTMAS IS STUPID!
