Duncan Keith Question
I own a jersey which I have been waiting awhile to get customized as I never like to put a players name on the back unless I feel they will be around for awhile. After seeing Keith in college at Michigan State for a couple years while I was there I have wanted to put his number on this jersey I have, since I graduated college and he was still on the Hawks .
The problem is I own a jersey from the year Wirtz passed away and it has the WWW patch on it and I don't want to pull that off. The question is was Dunc the Alternate Captain that year or was it the year after that as I want to make sure my authentic jersey isn't a falsie.
All the help is appreciated folks, and Go Hawks!!

On October 8, 2008, Keith was named an alternate captain along with Patrick Sharp.1

Oh and I believe Wirtz died in 2007 and they wore the patch for only that season. So the WWW patch was the year before Dunc was awarded the A.

The 07-08 season was the season where the Blackhawks were captainless – Instead Savard went with Lapointe as a constant alternate until he was traded and rotated out the other two spots. Keith did wear the A for a while but I don’t think it was very significant.
Getting a Keith jersey is awesome – but I don’t know about the A.. it’s up to you. I bought a Ruutu sweater that year (minus the WWW patch though) and it has an A on it… because I’m an idiot.
This
Savard rotated it on a pretty constant monthly basis with Brent Sopel, Brent Seabrook, Robert Lang, and Patrick Sharp getting a lot of the time with the A.

has Keith in his road whites wearing the “A” with the WWW patch and nothing with the home red swaeter. I think Savard used Dunc as a fill-in with the injuries we had. Even Havat (who?!) wore the “A”.
