Meanwhile at pensburgh...

I've been bored due to the hawks downtime since saturday so I decided to see what the pens fans were saying about the last game. I was surprised by how everyone felt about the hit on matt cooke.

From hooks orpik

"For teams that don't see too much of one another, unpleasantries were exchanged early and often; highlighted by Keith getting a shot on Matt Cooke that upset Cooke.  The hit was to the head, away from the play, and from behind; similiar to what just got Cooke suspended for two games.  If the league is truly serious about policing shots to the head, they need to review this tape."

I completely understand pens fans being upset over the hit but to say it was away from the play and from behind is a bit of a stretch. Cooke is a role player anyway. I didn't notice anyone over here crying when malkin was riding fraser while crosschecking him.

The pens just really piss me off and I can't quite figure out why. Is it the players? The fans? The east?

They are the most annoying

fans in hockey. No question about it. I’m sure you’ve read articles and found hundreds of comments that have slowly built up a justified anger. I know I have. Their level of doucebagginess is off the charts.

nevermind the fact

that Cooke had the initial shot on Keith down on the other end that was suspect all on its own to start the whole sequence of events. Funny how the pensburgh douchenozzle failed to even mention that little bit of info…

while keith's hit was a bit questionable.....

it was well deserved, and it was nice to see him make a statement. i liked it.

From what I remember, Cooke’s hit on Keith was questionable while Keith’s retaliation was just straight to his head. Cooke was watching a play along the boards and Keith just came in and blindsided him…

oh yeah...

i meant “questionable” more like…….that was kind of dumb, but also kind of awesome. it was cheap, but i really liked it. i really didn’t feel like cooke’s hit was all that bad, but i liked the response from keith.

hopefully that makes sense. it is very early.

Like Cooke wouldn’t have done the same thing if he was in Keith’s position. He’s just blubbering like a bitch because someone got the best of him. Dirty or not, I’m standing behind Keith for sticking up for himself.

Wasn't Cooke

The guy who hit Toews when he wasn’t looking 2 years ago and knocked his jawbone off? I’m all about safe play, but some folk just have it coming…
