Dustin Byfuglien: The Search for More Money
This guy just needs to go. I can't believe he's locked up until 2011. This was his quote after the terrible, unspeakable, and totally unacceptable loss to the NHL-WORST Islanders:
''It was his [day],'' Hawks winger Dustin Byfuglien said. ''We got shots and had traffic [in front of Mannino]. There was nothing more we could do.
WTF? Compare this to the rather contrite comments of Seabrook:
''I was on the ice for four goals,'' defenseman Brent Seabrook said. ''I've got to be way better than that. We've got to get better right now.''
As I was leaving the Skokie Skatium on Saturday, I was talking about Big Muff to another rinkrat. Out of the blue, a man came up to me to tell me that "big men take longer to develop" and "He will be good one day." I told him, "I watched him for 2 years in AHL Norfolk, and I used to say if there's one Admiral who wont make it to the NHL it's him." Too bad I was wrong. Now I have to listen to ".....just out of the reach of Byfuglien..." at least once every game.
May the Schwatrz be with You

Critique
Just thought it would be easier this way because I am very busy. I guess Im too much of a newb to know the proper blog etiquette. Now I do. I always appreciate criticism, for it leads to a quality product. CHEERS, GC

I was listening to the Score's hawks show with
Buff and Jesse Rogers a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve got to say, listening to him talk doesn’t really inspire much confidence in his ability to give a shit and make himself better. I know it was partially his dry, but poor, Minnesota sense of humor. But just about every answer he gave was some iteration of ‘well, ya know, what can you do?’
Buff’s gotten to the NHL, he’s gotten his payday, he’s bought his Maserati. He seems pretty content with what he’s achieved already. I don’t think anyone should expect anymore than what we’ve seen from him this year. An inconsistent, sleepy, player with shitty hands who can sometimes be a decent contributor – only if he feels like it.

@ Chrome
I totally agree 100%. It’s a lack of effort. He might make more of an impact if he would just screen the goalie, but he doesnt seem to want to get hit with the puck.

Prone to turn overs, slow, poor awareness, who knows if it will be on goal when he shoots, doesn’t use his body well, sub par stick handling, sub par passing, and my personal favorite falls down when there is no one around.

For what it's worth...
At last summer’s Hawks convention, Buff sat at his autograph table PAST his designated time, and signed until there was literally nobody left who wanted an autograph.
Doesn’t make him any better as a hockey player, but at least he’s a decent guy.

it's the only thing he can spell
"Oh, that's easy. White Sox. I'm not one of these fair-weather fans. You go to Wrigley Field, you have a beer; beautiful people up there. People aren't watching the game. It's not serious. White Sox, that's baseball. South Side." -O'Bama

I heard it was because he got really drunk the night before, and got there late. I could be mistaken, but I think that was the story behind it.

He is a...
big clumsy guy that plays soft and doesn’t hustle. Tallon must have been drunk or stoned when he decided to give him $3 mil a season.

Fortunately...
He’s big, and there are suckers out there, particularly in cities that rhyme with “Schmanaheim” that will drool at his size, and disregard what they’ve seen on the ice.
