JR Spotlight

I had a couple responses to the "Spotlight" we ran in The Indian tonight, so I thought I would share it here.  Most of you will think I'm gay, and maybe you're not wrong, but whatever.  Anyway, my ode to JR:

That was extremely well written

and the reason that I prefer blog writing analysis compared to the newspaper journalism. Memories and passion come through in the writing and it makes for a more enjoyable read.

Thanks

"Oh, that's easy. White Sox. I'm not one of these fair-weather fans. You go to Wrigley Field, you have a beer; beautiful people up there. People aren't watching the game. It's not serious. White Sox, that's baseball. South Side." -O'Bama

Great memories for sure

Sam I could not agree more with you. I was a season ticket holder from 82-93, and then I moved to Florida. Jr was by far and still is my favorite Hawk. Sitting is the first row of the second balcony I was constantly pulled to the edge of my seat when he took the ice.
His style of play has obviously worn down his body, and he was never the same after the Darian Hatcher check, but no matter what, he played the game with reckless abandon, and with a passion that seems to be missing.

I hope that he gets a chance to win a cup, cause he deserves it.
I also hope that the Hawks do the right thing and give him his special nght sometime afer he retires.
Thanks for giving me some goosbumps!

Sam

Next time we cross paths, you have to remind me to tell you my JR story. You’ll love it.

It takes guts...

to express one’s man love so publicly (j/k)…

It was a great piece and made it worth throwing down the 3 bucks to get it. I even had one of the 50/50 raffle people ask to see the front page comic because she caught a glimpse of the bedroom scene with Thornton and Marleau and she wanted to see the joke at the bottom.
