Edzo says "won't someone please think of Keith!"
Here's the video from last night's line brawl:
Around the 1:26 mark in the video is Eddie-O call for Burish to break away from the linesman and help out Keith who was in danger of losing quite a bit of hair to Burrows' grasp.
It reminded me a lot of this "fight":
Clearly Olczyk doesn't think much of Keith's fighting abilities, huh? And sure, Keith isn't going to win many fights but that's why he doesn't get in them. I thought he did a pretty decent job getting tied up with Burrows' though despite the girly hair-pulling.
He got his ass handed to him by Svitov though.
Back to last night's fight though - I'm still not sure how the Hawks ended up with such a huge share of the penalties. And I can't tell what Keith did at all to deserve his misconduct. It's hard to tell when you only see what's being shown on TV though.
Here's a look at all the penalties of the third period:
Lets be clear about one thing - Buff was an idiot for starting this whole thing. No one is going to be surprised that Luongo stops him on an attempt. But Luongo also really sold the penalty too. Watch the hit from Buff and you see Luongo fly back into his net well after the initial contact. A penalty sure and something that should have caused the Canucks to jump him immediately.
It's hard to tell what happens next but it clearly seems to stem from whatever Burish was doing.
All-in-all - it was an ugly game but one that might bring the Hawks closer. If anything about half the team and a great chance to bond in the penalty box as they all sat in there together. The poor guys on the bench were lonely.
This should hopefully lend more support to sitting Burish for tomorrow's game. He stirred up a lot of shit but failed to do anything significant which led to people like Keith having to fight. He's a liability to the Hawks at the moment when they need everyone performing at their peak.
It'll be interesting to see what lines Q rolls out for tomorrow's game.

Closer?
Maybe it is just because I am not a hockey lifer and I have never played organized hockey at any level (I’ve never even laced up ice skates, in all honesty), but how will rampant douchebaggery by Byfuglien and Burish bring the team “closer?” Or do you mean “closer against the two turds on the team?”
It was mostly a joke about how many people had to sit in a very cramped penalty box…
Once everything hit the fan though people started to stand up for each other – that can sometimes have a uniting effect. I make no excuse for what Buff or Burish did though – I think the team is better off right now without both of them if it were possible.
It sounded like one of the Sedin twins was pulling Burish by the back/Jersey which is why he was trying to stir it up with them. Buff was already in the Box and then thats when everything went haywire. So he couldn’t leave the Box otherwise there would have been a lengthy suspension i’m sure. As far as that BS Hair pulling, I was pissed for hours about that at home. But take another look at the"fight" is Dunc Fish hooking him? LOL
The whole thing started when Burish shot the puck in the net (which Luongo gave him a “good game” pat on the ass afterward, which was funny as hell) then started barking at the Twins again.
Keith got the misconduct for whacking Willie Mitchell with his stick in the back, after Mitchell took a run at Captain Wow while he was standing over by the scoring booth. Barker originally retaliated against Mitchell for it, which got him the 10 mins. Kudos to the guys that handle the jumbotron at the UC. They cut to JT yelling “Hey, fuck you!” at Mitchell just after it happened. They also got a shot of two old women giving the ref the finger when he was skating by.
can someone please explain why the heck kane was in the penalty box in the end???
when there were 6 of them in there? he never fights so why was he even in there?
and don’t even get me started on how crappy he’s been playing. complete waste of talent there.
He served the 2nd two mintues of Bollands roughing.

Byfuglien is the biggest 6'3 pussy I've ever seen
I hate him. I seriously hate him. The ONLY thing he has going for him is his height but he never ever uses it to his advantage in front of the net. Most likely because he couldn’t tip a puck in if his life depended on it.
Maybe I couldn’t see it from my seats, but I honestly don’t know why everyone is up in arms about Burish’s behavior last night. As for his play, don’t try to make it sound like someone playing in his spot last night would have drastically changed the outcome of the game. He’s on the 4th line for a reason.
Something needs to happen with Kane. He’s hesitant with his shots and I feel like he lacks confidence whenever he’s in the offensive zone. I don’t think he should be on a line with either Havlat or Versteeg. What if Q put him with Bolland and Ladd and moved Havlat?
Thats risky
I wouldn’t want to see arguably one of our best lines broken up this late in the season. Ladd, Bolland and Havlat have been awesome. If you’re gonna move anyone then make it Brouwer. But I’m not even sure I’d want to do that because that could effectively take away all scoring from the “second” line.
You and I are gonna live forever

so disappointed
kane used to be my favorite player when he was scoring in the beginning of the year but now all he does is skate a little and go back to the bench.
what happened? he can’t blame it on the ankle anymore.
Get him upstairs and get him out of here!

He’s on an incompatable line with no balance. That’s what happened. Q should put the STK line back together and drop Brouwer down with VERSTEEG! and Pahlsson.

i think burish does what he can. sure last night was INCREDIBLY stupid the way he acted but honestly, something had to be done. the hawks were sinking and he did the only thing he could: fight. at least it’ll be an interesting playoff season.
great article about kane and why he sucks now: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/147177-patrick-kane-is-he-one-of-the-blackhawks-top-five-players
So now we have to rank players value based on their last 10 games?
That list would like incredibly different if taken last year or even as recently as two months ago. You hate Patrick Kane. We get it.

Junior's over the top. But I'd say that's
been an accurate list for about 3 months now. Kane hasn’t really had anywhere near the impact he should since the injury late December. He’s got to put on more weight this offseason. That article is right, once teams started really roughing him up – which I think really ramped up upon his return from the injury – he became much more tentative, less aggressive, but also less patient than he was earlier in the year.
In no sense am I giving up on him or his ability to become a premier player in the league, but he’s had a pretty non eventful second half this season.
Got more soul than a sock with a hole.
Well doing a really quick look
from Patrick Kane’s 41st game to now, he’s accumulated 22 points. Versteeg has 15 in the same amount of time.
Since Kane has been moved to a line with Pahlsson and Versteeg, he’s done nothing. Before then, he had points in 15 of 17 games.

Burish
This could be due to my unknown man crush on burish but what did he do that was so bad? Wasn’t it more of buff that should be blamed for it or no?
Not sure why Buff is getting all the blame here...
Much as I like to rag on the big guy, he was doing what the Hawks should have been doing the entire game: going hard to the net. Buff got his two and there was a little scrum, but nothing really happened until Burish started punching Henrik Sedin in the face while they were locked up with the officials. Buff didn’t start the fight and had already taken his seat in the box before things went haywire.

True
Yeah, you do have a point I just wasn’t really sure if he purposely did it or not. Once again me probably trying to stand up for Burish, but I don’t think he tried to do any damage to Sedin just trying to stir things up and hopefully get momentum.
