PrintYes Hawks fans, we won't be subjected to the snoozing (and this year, failing) style of his Minnesota Wild. I just saw that he will not be back next year and the Wild will have to find someone else, as he is their only coach in franchise history.
It will be interesting to see if they stick with the same style or if they try to make a splash in free agency for some higher scoring power.....certainly with Backstrom you can get into contention very quickly, and that division isn't all that scary.

God help us
if they go after Carbonneau. He is a coach who believes in speed and scoring off of rushes and he coaches a KILLER power play. A coach who has that style of game with Gaborik, Brunnette, Fritsche, Viellieux, Bouchard and Zidlicky on his team will do some offensive damage. On the plus side, we get to see if Backstrom really is a good goalie or just some schlub who benefits from having the equivalent of five defensemen on the ice at all times.
