Taking the morning off...
No surprise - I'm hungover and that burrito seemed like a good idea at the time but now I'm not so sure.
Sam's off selling the season review of The Indian and I have no idea what McClure is up to.
If you want a preview - go here.
No one get hurt in this game - and get ready for the Flames.

I’m with you on this one, Matt. It seems like a good afternoon to NOT drink.
In any case, here are a couple video feeds:

As an aside from this game, how many people caught the BU/Miami game last night?

I wasn;t surprised by BU, more surprised that MiamiOH got as deep as they did

I agree. They also played BU pretty even for most of the game. The only area I wasn’t overly impressed with was their PP. I think they were 0/5 in the 1st alone.
For all your hockey news; www.illegalcurve.com
it’s a team of grinders, so the PP was weak all season

I'm intrigued..
so I opened the “Iso-Cam” that’s supposed to be on Blackhawks stars… and it’s on VERSTEEG! chewing on his mouthguard… fascinating..
Wouldn't it be cool if we didn't have to play this game...

I interviewed with NT last year at NT
and they never even let me know that I was not their cup of tea
Then again, I was just coming out of college at the time, so I was not the most attractive candidate; but still, let me know one way or the other, youknow?
by russellguldin on Apr 12, 2009 1:48 PM CDT up reply actions
I was under the impression that schools liked teachers with only a BA and no experience...
Because they can pay them less. Maybe things are different for New Trier, considering they have the highest average salary in the state.
NOW STOP IT RIGHT HERE
NT is different
because they have a constituency that has at least a BA/BS, if not a grad degree. Educated parents want their kids to be taught by people at least as smart as they are.
by russellguldin on Apr 12, 2009 1:57 PM CDT up reply actions
Makes sense.
I’m not even sure I’d want to teach there long term. There’s almost no diversity — racially or in terms of socioeconomic status. I’m not sure I’d enjoy teaching extremely privileged kids…

Absolutely.
Why do you think I applied there?
That and rich white kids will pretty much do what you say. I can’t imagine having too many classroom management issues at New Trier.

Just realized that Winnipeg is well represented on both teams;
Chicago: Toews, Barker, Keith (and I think Sharp grew up in Wpg)
Detroit: Helm, Meech.

Eddie - Keeping his promise
I’m still waiting for #16 to keep his promise to the fans of Wpg. “And when we win the cup, we’re bringing it back to Winnipeg”. hehe

sure did. We loved Eddie O. I think we either got him from Toronto or traded him to Toronto. Or possibly Chicago.

Got him from Toronto (Olczyk and Osborne were sent to the Winnipeg Jets for Dave Ellett and Paul Fenton) and traded him 3 yrs later to the Rangers. He then came back to Wpg for the last two seasons.

Gilroy UFA
Didn’t realize that he was unrestricted. He wasn’t drafted?
For all your hockey news; www.illegalcurve.com
his career isn’t terribly remarkable until the last two years; last year was not a stand out, so he wouldn’t be considered a good pick up. That and look at the defensemen drafted; he’s not physical like Schenn, and he just found a scoring touch until recently.

to a season full of surprises and great moments. Kahbby’s shutout will hopefully be a preview of the first round.

Flames Suck...
…and badly! Hawks in 5 with ease! Hey at least i’m giving the Flames a game ‘cause their fans on TSN.ca are even giving them that! Despite retard McGuire analysis, after today I don’t feel bad about giving him a hard time at the Bell Centre, the hawks will overpower a Flames squad that has pretty much quit on the season!!!
2 questions
why wasn’t keith playing?
and why did all the players line up at the end of the game?? stupid nbc cut away the shot.
answers
Keith got the day off.
The players were lined up because at the end of the game, they give their game-worn jerseys to lucky fans who somehow got picked to receive them. There’s another line of fans, and the player goes over to the fan across from him and gives that person his jersey and they take a picture together.
