Havlat among Central Division Nominees for Masterton
From the official site:
"The Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy is awarded each year to the NHL player who "best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey." The award was presented by the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association to honor the late Bill Masterton, a player for the Minnesota North Stars who exhibited those qualities. Masterton died on Jan. 15, 1968, as a result of an on-ice injury."

The Central Division Nominees
Chicago Blackhawks: Martin Havlat
Columbus Blue Jackets: Raffi Torres
Detroit Red Wings: Chris Chelios (I didn't know you really got a chance at this award for just being old as dirt - 24 games, no points, +2?)
St. Louis Blues: B.J. Crombeen
Nashville Predators: Steve Sullivan

I get it...
He’s the only one that even closely qualifies for the Wings.. but a world where you can’t make a “Chelios is old” joke is a world I don’t want to live in.
Dedication?
to what, continuing to get a paycheck? He has done squat on the ice this year. Many of those 24 games he hasn’t even skated more than 1, 2, or 3 shifts. At this point all he does for the Deadwings is fill up a roster spot and salary cap room that could be used for someone that might actually contribute more that veteran experience in the locker room.

How does a guy who averages ~2 PIM a game get nominated for an award with "sportsmanship" in the description?
Not to mention the fact that he fucking sucks.
NOW STOP IT RIGHT HERE

you’re a girl posing as a guy.

Part of the reason I don't like football is because I've never taken the time to understand the strategy
I never played, and I was never a football video game guy, so I never really understood the strategy. I knew that it was more than just 22 guys slamming into one another over a strangely-shaped ball, but I’ve never learned formations or when you would use them — that kind of bullshit.
NOW STOP IT RIGHT HERE
so, to conclude my thought,
I don’t really care about the NFL, the Bears, or Jay Cutler. I realize a lot of people do, though. From what I understand, he has the same outside-football life as Kyle Orton, but he’s slightly better (and possibly overrated)
NOW STOP IT RIGHT HERE
let's see
if Cutler shows up to play for the Bears or for himself. Could be a long season with this asshat.
