Don’t know – all I’ve read is that he’s “resting”. I would guess the hits have definitely taken their toll on him…

Considering how closely guarded the NHL

keeps its injury reports, i’m pretty shocked Q is even putting this out. Obviously the Flames were going to continue going at Kane hard, but knowing this gives them even more motivation to get after him.

if kane does end up playing tonight he just got an even bigger target on his back. forget about going after havlat, now kane will get all the worst hits possible.

You gotta figure he just needed rest so they sat him out of practice. And with all the reporters watching Q had to say something.

It’s not like they haven’t been targeting Kane all series so I’m not really concerned by Q’s comments.

It’s also not going to be good for his reputation. This sends a signal to the league that if you want to eliminate a big offensive threat from Chicago, just hit Kane.

I think they need to get Kaner in the batting cages and shoot a couple hundred baseballs at him until he finds his happy place.

Yeah – I suppose it might have been best to say “we just gave him the morning off” rather than open it up to the fact that he’s a little hurt.

Matt Walker.....

Needs to do the one thing he’s good at, and hit Rene Bourque like he’s never been hit before. Seriously, this abuse has to stop. the league’s double standard on suspensions / malicious hits is ridiculous. Chicago doesnt seem to be on Colin Campbell’s radar. He seems to like to ignore the West as a whole. Colin Campbell is about as good a NHL disciplinarian as Brian Campbell is a defenseman (I couldnt resist saying this)
