Meet Me In The Morning
Needless to say, I'm in no condition to write a full wrap of tonight's game. I hope everyone will be patient, and I'll get one one up tomorrow. I will say, this team's Huevos is something to behold.
Also, Matt and I will be on Vancouver Radio tomorrow, 1040am up there, probably around 12:15. Matt will let you know further.
UPDATE: We'll be on at 1:30 Central - You can listen live here. I'm still in bad shape.. so hopefully the guys from Vancouver won't do any yelling.

“The Blackhawks aren’t as fuzzy when it came to how this game played out and it all started with opening the scoring for the first time in this series. From there Chicago made a point to play disciplined hockey in what turned out to be a chippy affair — both the tying and go-ahead goals came on power plays set up by needless penalties taken by Kevin Bieksa.”
Haha, well at least you’re honest about being in “no condition” to post a summary. That was a fucked up game. The Canucks lack discipline. There were also a few times where the refs could have shoved the whistles up their asses instead of blowing on them.
Alas, the Hawks look pretty damned good right now. I have to admit it.
There were a few times the refs DID shove the whistles up their asses
Two obvious penalties that drew blood from Kane ring any bells?
What about that one shift from Rypien that should’ve been at least one charging call?
Or how about the time Ladd checked the fuck out of some douche (I forgot which douche it was) in front of the net, then got bent over backwards across the crossbar?
The officiating was far from perfect in this game, but I would probably say we had more of a right to complain about it than you guys.
NOW STOP IT RIGHT HERE
The Refs
Were also responsible for the Canucks only registering 10 shots on goal in the final 40 minutes of play.
Yes, Zanstorm, there were some controversial calls that went against your beloved Canucks. That call on Kesler in the last four minutes was an embellishment by Campbell. But the refs have been calling that a penalty ALL SEASON LONG when you take your free hand and use it to slow up an opposing player.
And you also can’t argue with the high stick call that put Chicago on the power play that resulted in the GWG.

Word
I’d say getting the extra penalty out of the fight maybe was a make-up call for some of the early stuff. I don’t like the way Kane flops like a hooked bass when he gets nicked, but both times should have been penalties. I’ve got a feeling he’s getting a bit of a rep as a divemaster though and I hope he learns to keep playing instead of standing there begging for a call.
At the end, those are must calls. There is NO way these refs are going to call anything in the last 5 minutes of a tied game unless it is egregious. The high stick on Ladd was a no brainer that the back ref saw clearly. The penalty on Campbell also has to be called. His free hand came off and grabbed Campbell as he went by. Maybe Campbell played it up a bit, but from the replays I’ve seen, I’m not so sure.
The perception of this game kind of amazes me. I try to be as objective as I can. When Ladd got that first penalty I thought it was a terrible call. Then I saw the replay of his cross check and he probably deserved it. There were some questionable calls and non-calls for both sides last night, but I can’t recall anything so bad that warranted throwing shit on the ice during a game.
My goal? World domination.

Stay classy Vancouver fans. What a joke that was throwing a full beer at Ladd and making poor Roberto hide under the net. If I hear another Vancouver fan bitch about penalties they need to watch Kanes face take a beating in the last period. How about those NO _CALLS?
Anyways, the Hawks out played them for the last forty minutes of the game allowing only 10 shots in that span. That’s what cost the Canuks the game, not the officials.
Oh, and Bieksa is a total RICHARD, but thanks for the two PP goals.

Canucks fans and Cubs fans have a lot in common.
Blame your losses on anything but your team (Bartmann/officiating) and throw trash on the field when things don’t go your way.
Come on guys, you can do better.

Hey now...
As a Cubs fan as someone who frequents this site, take it easy… there are a lot of people from Bleed Cubbie Blue (SSH’s sister site on SBNation) that stop in here and we hear crap like that from Cards/Brewers/Sox fans enough… Just play nice:-)
Anyway, last nights game was incredible to watch. The guys skated fast, and with intent, and showed the Canucks we’re a force to reckoned with. It seems like Vancouver is up against the ropes, let’s knock them out on Monday… if we come out and skate like we did, press the issue and play with the same passion I’m guessing we’ll be up at least 2 goals by the first intermission. Vancouver is tired and seem reserved to insighting a riot as opposed to playing good defense… too bad for them the hits count doesn’t win the game, only the goal count… they seem to have forgotten that.
That's true. Sorry.
Sometimes I forget you guys come from the same city.

Actually, I’m not. Jason Halford just said you weren’t going to rub it in, so I’m going to hold you to that!
