Around SBN: Clippers Need To Realize That Spurs Are The Anti-Grizzlies

Whip-paddock

Dear Second City Hockey,
I sincerely apologize for not being on hand at the Whirlaway last night. I know I let many of you down, particularly Sam, who organized a mass-texting effort directed at me at about 4:30 in the morning as his form of non-violent protest. However I had made this commitment before the series began, and it was not to be gotten out of. If it's any consolation, I did watch every second of the game, and still managed to get myself completely annihilated while doing so.

(Sidebar: mjthor, I highly recommend Knot Stock by Furthermore brewery out of Milwaukee. Ale infused with black pepper. Wonderfully spicy)

So, that being said, I hope that you can find it within yourselves to forgive me.

Sincerely,
Matt McClure aka hystyk23 aka huge pussy.

I'll go ahead and accept this apology.

If this were an elimination game, things would be different. Very, very different.

I’ll put Knot Stock on my list of beers to try — where’d you have it?

It’s really only available in the immediate Milwaukee vicinity, and I was able to find it at the local Woodman’s. I originally sampled it at a Micro-brew fest in the Dells a couple years ago, and try to grab some any time I’m in “The Good Land”. Admittedly, it’s far better from the nipple than from the bottle, but it’s still excellent.

I had the Lakeshore Brewery's Riverwest Stein beer

as a celebration brew(s) Sat night. Pretty damn good lager. Although maybe I’d have to try it again after a Hawks loss to get a more honest assessment. Everything tastes great after a Hawks win, even PBR.

Got more soul than a sock with a hole.

PBR is always delicious

I disagree. PBR sucks.

If I want cheap beer, I’ll go Old Style or High Life before PBR anytime.

1 of the 3 is always in my fridge. Otherwise its Bud, Coors, Schlitz, Ichouse, Beast Ice, or any number of malt liqour that can be found. For some reason the cheap beer taste has never left me from my college days. Thats why I’m always lost when the game thread turns to the beer of the game

PBR is easily my second choice for cheap beers.

High Life edges it out for first choice.

I switch them.. PBR, then High Life. I always bring High Life though when I’m going to someone’s place for a cookout..

Good call. Never bring good craft/micro to a cookout.

I may have to do a cheap beer for tonight’s gamethread.

Maybe I've drank too much PBR in the last few years

since that was always the cheapo special at my Friendly Neighborhood Tavern.

I just can’t do it anymore. Any more than 2 PBRs and I’ve booked myself a flight to a morning of watery shits.

PBR does lend itself to its own very special brand of fart the day after. God help you if your PBR bender leads to a White Castle sojourn.

Takes nuts to apologize to an entire website. Accepted.

Blows before bros before hos,
Ya, but whence comes a Cup run,
you must juxtapose:
Put your pros before all and have done
with it. No matter the pantyhose
your digging nose might expose,
A girlfriend’s parents (I’m sorry)
Are no more than the Nucks: just foes.
There can be no other theories,
at least not til the end of the 15 series …
when the Hawks’ names gleam starry
high on Stanley. With all others. (In rows.)
