Did the NHL want the Blackhawks to win?
Of course they did - but did that influence the officials? Come on...
Pretty hilarious article though

Laughable
At least it’s somewhat heartening to see that the jury of Vancouver faithful is pretty divided in the comments after the article. Some think the writer is a complete hack and the Nucks lost to the better team, the other half have colanders on their heads.
It would be feasible
If this were the NBA, but since when has Bettman proved the competence to pull that kind of thing off?
www.secondcityhockey.com
exactly
I love how people will rail on Bettman for being totally incompetent and a fucking moron.. then give him credit for vast conspiracies against their teams when things go awry..
This article makes me want to punch puppies
A conspiracy theory? Are you fucking kidding me? There were just as many missed calls that would have gone against the Canucks. I get so tired of people being sore losers. Can’t you just go and pout like all the rest of the fan base? Asshole.
that's what she said
I cannot STAND this sort of shit. Both Vancouver dailies have the been the definition of batshit insane since yesterday. It’s infuriating.

My favorite comment
was the one saying that the rule changes were made to put old players at a disadvantage because they needed to “re-learn the game.” Yes, because nobody plays hockey before they make the NHL. They just learn it right when they get there. Not like the same rules had been used throughout Kane’s youth as in the NHL.
You and I are gonna live forever
What a joke
This article is about as bush league as it gets. Embarassing. Calls were made/missed on both ends.
I’ll write the NHL right away to get a Canucks inspired “No Touching rule in place”
9.0.0.1 Any player who gets within 6 feet of the crease may not touch or otherwise disturb the precious goaltender. This includes but is not limited to, players losing balance, players being pulled down as the result of a a penalty, players being checked by an opposing player into the goalkeeper, or any action which results in the goalkeeper being “somewhat disturbed” by players near him.
I’m sick of all this “fix” yellow journalism. Canadians can’t stand that there are no Canadian teams left in the playoffs. That isn’t the fault of the American teams, so stop trying to cast doubt on the validity of playing physical hockey.
I'd differ on one point.
It is entirely our fault that there aren’t any Canadian teams left in the playoffs. We were just better than them.

You don’t even need to think back very hard to recall the highstick on Kane that went uncalled and the elbow in the middle of the ice on him when he didn’t have the puck. Or the numerous touchy penalties the Hawks got called on in the 3rd period of Game 6. As mentioned, at least half the Nucks fans hated that article too. Most of them seem classy
It’s better than accepting the blame themselves for jinxing it with their parade-route promotion.

Conspiracy of dunces?
I have said, far too often to the people around me, that I don’t believe in conspiracies simply because they require smart people to do two things that they cannot do: work well together and keep quiet about it. But what if just one person convinced a bunch of mediocre minds to do something? Could they?
That was a wreck of a train of thought. Anyhoo, I think that both sides had a bunch of calls go both ways, and who is to really say who got the shorter end? I think that the Canucks got the benefit of more calls than we did. We just field a better team. We can beat the refs in Canada. We rule. Hard.
One Yank?
I like the one Yank comment. Um, 3 Yanks with a total of, I believe, 6 goals in the last 2 games. Perhaps we should discount any Swede goals; of which there weren’t many as they didn’t show up very often.
At least D. Sedin manned up and admitted the better team won
"The better team always wins a seven-game series," Daniel said. "We can look and say we were unlucky in some games, but it’s not about luck. You get luck. They have three really skilled lines up front and in the end that won them the series."
"It’s easy," Daniel said when asked why the Canucks had so much difficulty protecting leads. "It’s because they had three skilled lines and they come in waves. They come and they score. That’s the bottom line."
What a hack job by that reporter. Those delusional enough to think a conspiracy existed or the referees were biased and unfair should heed the words of their team’s players who actually played the game.

What a joke of an article
Although the part about the Kobe-Lebron final being predetermined is most likely true
Lets Go Hawks!
