HAHA!
That’s good. I wonder how Ducks fans feel about that trade. I mean, how can you not love Wiz (especially after returning after spending 2 nights in the hospital in the middle of the series!), but he didn’t look so great last night (see: terrible), and they probably could have used an experienced Wing shutdown center like Pahlsson.
Glad he’s on our team now! Still, great series by Anaheim. It was that close. I was bummed that it didn’t get to OT last night, but oh well.

You might like Wiz as a person
but he sucked in this last series. he was on the ice for the three goals last night. overall, he’s just a mediocre defenseman.
that's what she said

Dude — I think the Wizard gets some leeway. He did get a lung contusion and a follow-up elbow to the jaw midway through this series, left on a stretcher, and made it back after missing only a game.
Anaheim’s blueline was definitely better with the Wiz in the lineup, that’s for sure.

Should have been overtime if that goalie interference had been called.

As I mentioned in the BoC comments, Pahlsson is the only player that I can think of off-hand who is 2-0 lifetime in best-of-seven series against Detroit. For sure we could have used him, but I’m not upset with the Wizard — he played well and isn’t going to walk for nothing this summer.

agreed
I think Wiz played well for Anaheim. Of course the only game people are going to remember is last night. That’s the nature of sports. And yeah……he’ll be on your team next year.

I was surprised with how well he seemed to be doing out there. I thought the Ducks might have been hosed with that trade but Wiz held his own out there.

Obviously missing some/many. Corrections and input greatly appreciated!

My buddies and I have been calling Ladd Double D for a few months now. I was hoping it would stick, but just never really took off. Thoughts?

I’m partial to Super Nintendo Jalmers for Hjalmarsson. Forget who had that one in the other thread, but I thought it was great.
My goal? World domination.

Heh.
Made me laugh :)
Somebody should make a comic called "Tulowitzki the Combat Shortstop". I'd read it.

Phonetics
How do you pronounce Hjalmarsson?
I would think that it would be “Yall mur son”
Foley says “J’all mur son”
Is it the Y or the J, and if it’s the Y how come nobody has told Foley yet?

That confuses me too
My church’s pastor’s last name is Hjelle, and it’s pronounced “Yell-ee,” not “Jelly.” Following that logic, Hjalmarsson should be pronounced “Yall mur son.”
According to the Hawks website, the phonetic is “JAHL-muhr-suhn,” so maybe Niklas chooses to pronounce the J in his last name.
