So he can sing?

Read the article closely for that one, I was confused.

Don’t we need D’s? Why a wing?

If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning

Wasn’t that an epically amazing typo?

It’s ok, just ask Beach if he has talked to Chris Bruton lately…

That should straighten him out.

sucker punch? or deserved? can it be both?

by Matthew Dirt on May 20, 2009 8:59 PM CDT up reply actions

Oh it was pretty much deserved given all the antics he had pulled with other teams in the W.

Dude is a Beast

but he slipped in the draft due to injury concerns. Best player available so no brainer for Hawks, but his reckless style is a concern. He will without a doubt be a Blackhawk next year and with Skille ready also………….bye, bye Havlat? Only so much money and a lot of pieces to pay in a couple years.

His behavior and personality are a concern. Considering leading up to the draft there were some scouts and agents who refused to have anything to do with him.

Beach attempted this path of redemption type thing. But was kicked off out of Rockford in less than two weeks.

You're nuts

Marty Havlat is a virtual lock to be offered a new multi-year contract. Kyle Beach has got significant behavior, personality and maturity issues to overcome before he is ever going to be welcome in the Blackhawk lockerroom. Or have any hopes of carving out a viable NHL career.

Jack Skille? Well, to quote Dennis Green he is who we think he was. And I don’t mean that in complimentary tones.

by BLou on May 20, 2009 9:14 PM CDT up reply actions

I want Havlat back, but there is a cap. I have no control over it, but if i did you would see a “detroit” contract of about 8 years with most of the money up front. That’s the only way to fit Marty in with the upcoming contracts of Toews, Kane, Keith…….

What did Denny Green think Of Versteeg after 08 season? Did you see a Calder finalist?

Skille really needed another year, maybe two up here in Madison before he should have gone pro…dude made a mistake taking the ring and running…but we’ll always have Triple OT…

Well shit, with that thinking I guess every hockey player should stay in/go to college instead of developing skills with the help of professional coaches in the minors.

that's what she said

by Sportsgal on May 20, 2009 10:07 PM CDT up reply actions

You would think that would be the case

but look what an extra year at North Dakota did for Johnny Toews…

by AirTrafficAJ on May 20, 2009 11:13 PM CDT up reply actions

He got arrested for public intox and disturbing the peace. But college > minor league hockey!

that's what she said

by Sportsgal on May 20, 2009 11:30 PM CDT up reply actions

If Havlat was going to resign

he would have already done so…that’s usually how it works in the NHL..players are generally tied up before the season ends…see the DET resignings during the year. I think this series shows why he won’t be back anyway. He’s simply not a $6m player. Thanks for the 1 out of 3 years you gave us Marty. See ya in Edmonton or whatever franchises Hossa and Gaborik pass on first.

probably, he is a bit of a tool, but there’s a ton of those in the NHL. Avery still has a job.

While Avery is a tool, I think because he still has some charm it works in his favor.
