May 26th - Beard of the Day - Moses
Times like these call for incredible levels of leadership from our beards, so we've decided to call in the heavy artillery today and tomorrow. Today, we give you Moses.
According to the Old Testament, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt to escape genocide and slavery at the hands of the Egyptians in search of their promised land. In order to reach the aforementioned destination after being lost for years, he had to part the Red Sea. Here's hoping there are some parallels to be drawn given the current situation.
Moses is represented here, in his most famous incarnation, by Charleton Heston. A certifiable wack job to be sure, but a Northwestern alumnus, which we hope a good omen.

Havlat and Nik
both not on the ice in practice today…doesn’t mean Havlat won’t play tomorrow but I’d say we can probably forget about Nik on Wed.

That is a tough to take… It is hard for me to imagine Huet being able to steal a game and shut down the Wings.

I hope for everyone's sake he does, or else its going to be a long
“What do we do with Huet” offseason.
Got more soul than a sock with a hole.

meh
Send him to Yoda to learn.
Tretiak is still on the payroll. I say send Huet to spend the summer with him. If anyone can help Froggy he can.

That is an option, but we are not going to take the cubs mantra of “well shucks, there is always next year”. We need him to be better than good, and we (presumably) need it Wednesday no questions asked.

fuck the "always next year" crap
Don’t think for a second that because I am saying if Huet is going to be our #1 goalie next year he needs to better his game in the off season that I do not absolutely want to crush those bastards from Detroit tomorrow. For me the whole point has been and always will be to win the Cup now.

Yep, next year is what it is. It's the now that's happening!
Skip the next year shit till it’s approprate. Get the lead out for tomorrow night. A chance to get some face back and bring it back here for a proper home game. But Without Nic, God help us!
You have to ask me nicely!

Another home game would be just what the doctor ordered.

Hopefully we play defense and Huet doesn't have to "steal" a game.
NOW STOP IT RIGHT HERE

here here
while we’re at it, maybe our forwards show up too and everyone comes to play a game of hockey, as opposed to whatever you want to call that last display of bedlam.
But that was so long ago I choose to quietly let the memory slide. Wednesday, in Detroit. With Probert power.
"Call Detroit, tell dem... BULLSHIT!"

With Moses and Metallica
It’s like a guaranteed win tomorrow.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning

Only Messier can guarantee a win. But I’d love to see Tazer try. Does he remind anyone else of old number 11?

So let it be written.
So let it be done.
