Where should the Blackhawks focus in the 2009 NHL Draft?
2. Tampa Bay Lightning (Raw Charge) - Victor Hedman, Modo (Swe)
3. Colorado Avalanche (Mile High Hockey) - Matt Duchene, Brampton (OHL)
4. Atlanta Thrashers (Bird Watchers Anonymous) - Evander Kane, Vancouver (WHL)
5. Los Angeles Kings (Battle of California) - Brayden Schenn, Brandon (WHL)
6. Phoenix Coyotes (Five For Howling) - Jared Cowen, Spokane (WHL)
7. Toronto Maple Leafs (Pension Plan Puppets) - Magnus Svensson-Paajarvi (Swe)
The consensus seems to be that the Hawks will need to focus on Defensemen and Centers. Obviously the lack of depth in center was well documented this year with wingers like Sharp and Versteeg (who still hasn't earned back his exclamation point from me) filling in after the Hawks were forced to trade away Robert Lang for salary cap reasons.
We're about a week away for picking in the mock draft which also about the same time the Blackhawks will be picking in the real draft.
So where do you all think we should focus? We'll try to get some previews up of the players that might be available as the time gets closer.

Depends on what their other plans are
but I see a need for better defense.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just be a horrible warning
Defensemen!!
Big nasty head cracking defensemen who can
1. actually can check someone as a way to prevent entrance to the defensive zone
2. clear a puck out of the defensive zone
3. not pass across the ice through the other team’s forwards in the defensive zone.
4. it would be nice if they could hold a puck in on the offensive zone too.
5. be able to do all of the above without skating around in a circle in the defensive zone before they do anything else.

A big D man
Would be awesome, but I don’t think there is going to be a top flight guy available at 28. Hawks might want to consider packaging some of their picks (we have at least 2 second rounders) for a big D man.
If it's me.....
….I trade the first round pick in a package for another piece to help win immediately.
Proposals?
I know our free agent signing will tell a lot, but who is around to be traded for/would you want to land?
I would love
for Louis Leblanc to fall to us but I just don’t see it happening.
