All's Well That Ends Well
To conclude the tale of one Mr. Bloome and his seats being moved for some bar (that will contain some unholy nightmare I'm sure, but more on that in a bit) the Hawks were kind enough to move him to section 321 Row 1 for the same price, so at least in this case, they have done right by a loyal fan.
That doesn't mean I think this will continue to happen. I'll parrot what Chris Block said over at The Third Man In, basically, all of us, the die-hards, the 300 Level dwellers, the fans of this blog, we don't matter a jot to the Hawks. We're not paying the heavy portions of their bills like the 100 level and the suite-holders especially, and we have no recourse, because if we leave, there's someone else willing and ready to take our spot. Tis the nature of the beast, and the Hawks are hardly the only organization that sees the world this way. In fact, they all do. I can't even imagine what kind of douchebaggery is going to be filling these bars or whatever they are in the seats, but I'm damn sure it won't be pleasant. I fear the raucous atmosphere we came to love in April and May will be a thing of the past as more bandwagoners and people wanting to be part of a scene are invited in, but it's something I, and we, will have to learn to live with.

300 Level
Call some of us older fans douchebags if you want. I have no idea of your age but guess it is on the younger side of the creation of Fandemonium. I highly doubt that you remember the late 60’s and early 70’s where you could show up at the Staduim after the start of the third and be let in for free.
I grew up a Hawks fan playing the game. Eventually I matured and got a job in college and could buy season tickets. The product was good, the atmosphere even better. They moved us to the UC, last row beneath the press box. Wirtz didn’t give a shit, and neither did the organization. I found that it was a waste of money to pay to see Alpo dog shit Sunohhen or whoever coach a bad team and pay money for it.
I don’t currently have season tickets. Maybe I will put my name on the waiting list. At the same time I like to be closer to the action. The eyes tend to go as you age. Just because we may be older and have a little bit more disposable income to sit closer to the action does not qualify your characterization of lower level fans as douchebags.
Well
At no point do I refer to the people on the lower levels as such. The only ones I label as douchebags are what I fear will be inhabiting these new drinking stations on the 300 Level. I fear it may become a Lincoln Park Pod.

Point taken. You are good with your words.
Thanks again
Thanks again to those on this blog that helped my cause. Great piece here and on third man in – I too have doubts on that bar thing being put into the stands, I am thinking it will be equal to the Captain Morgan club if it were in the bleachers. I am glad to be 8 sections away.
Once I got higher up the org chart, the Hawks were much more accomodating. I am glad I was able to stay on the west end, hopefully this will be an opportunity to make new friends in the surrounding seats. I am also hopeful to not be surrounded by broker seats as I was located next to six broker seats in 329 – which in the playoffs were occupied 100% of the time with douchebags with too much disposable income.
Welcome To 321.
I’m in row two, seats 13 and 14. If you’re towards that end of the section, it’s a very good group of guys in the surrounding seats.
Thanks
I am in 11 & 12, your neighbors can be assured that I am not a leaner, nor do I bring any leaners to the game with me, you will also not hear me yell SHOOT – I will warn you in advance, once a year, I have a tradition of a Bears game in the afternoon, Hawks game in the evening (schedule permitting, the Hawkeyes double bus, I recommend it) – surrounding fans have been gracious enough to grant me immunity for anything I may say or do that game (legal limit gets obliterated that day). Glad to hear that is a good group over there, look forward to some good memories in the new seats.
leaner?
I am unfamiliar with the terminology here, I have a guess, but please define.

My guess is he’s talking about one of those guys that sits way on the edge of their seat and leans forward… so that everyone behind them has to do the same thing in order to see the ice. That’s my definition of a leaner anyway.
Yup that is a leaner
One who starts the chain reaction lean forward all the way up to the last row. A ‘prarie dog’ is a moving leaner, very hard to predict, the prarie dogs – side to side, up and down, on their feet and back down at random times.
Clarification
I should qualify my above statements by saying they are not necessarily criticisms – as being arrogant enough to tell others how to watch a game is much more annoying than leaning forward in a seat. Plus there are those who lean out of necessity and do not start a chain reaction such as children and those under 5’6 or so.
my clarification
I ask because I am definitely a leaner. I don’t move around at all, just a little on the edge of the seat, forearms on the knees. I even do it at home when I’m watching a game on the couch, just can’t help it. Being that hockey is a fast and intense sport, I can’t be the only nutcase who does this? On the plus side, I certainly don’t yell SHOOOOOT.

In 326 we yell SHOOOOOT IT
usually when the hawks pick up the puck behind their own net. Fun to watch the D-bags look confused when we do that….
