Deep Thoughts with Patrick Kane
A few gems from this fun and lengthy interview with ESPNChicago.
-"Now I'm on the cover of the game and kids will be saying, "I want the game with Kane on the front," so it's pretty amazing to think of that."
-"I've been watching my buddies play the last couple years and whenever they play against me, they're always trying to injure me throughout the game."
-"It reminds me of kind of like a bigger, nicer Buffalo. Really nice people, no one's really stuck up around the city. Great place to live, for sure."
Kane also let's us know who was angling for his sisters the most. SHOCKER: It wasn't Burish.

Kane
I was in Vegas for the NHL awards ceremony for both the red carpet event and the ceremony itself. Most NHL stars that walked down the red carpet stopped and signed autographs and shook hands. Kane entered at the same time as Gary Bettman. While Bettman stopped, signed autographs, and shook hands, Kane kept his sunglasses on and walked by everyone. People asked him for autographs and pictures, and he said, “I have to keep walking.” After the ceremony, everyone left via the lobby where fans and stars could mingle. My dad and I got pictures with Tony O, Roenick, and others. We asked Kane for a picture and he said he, “Can’t do that.” We asked him again, and he said, “If I do it for one, I have to do it for everyone.” He then put his sunglasses on, indoors, and not wanting to walk down the red carpet, sneaked out a back way. As a Blackhawks season ticket holder, it was saddening and deeply disappointing that Kane could not afford to spend a couple seconds of his time to take a picture, shake hands, or sign autographs.
You think McDonough went aggressively after EA Sports to secure the cover? I’m guessing it’s more EAS’s call than the NHL’s, and I wonder if it works like more general advertising. I mean, if EA Sports had a list of 15 or so players they were considering … do they then court bids from teams? I could see it happening.
Kane may not be happy that
You used the words “his sisters” and “SHOCKER” in the same sentence.
Then again he most likley won’t fight you either
Good article, Thanks for sharing!
