Marleau And Heatley Stay Put - But Theo Is Back For Another Round
If you've been around a computer tonight - you've probably heard one of the rumors that Dany Heatley was finally traded in a deal that would also send Patrick Marleau to the Kings... or something like that.
Yeah, well in the words of Dean Lombardi - they're "complete bull".
In case you want to follow along with the drama in almost realtime - Fear The Fin has a great rundown and follows the story throughout the night. So there's still a possiblitly that Heatley could come here (please please no) or that Marleau could come here (Yeah, I could be down with that).
The biggest news of the night though - Everyone's favorite drunken midget has been cleared to play. Theo Fleury was cleared by the NHL, negating his indefinite suspension from back in 2003. So he's looking for an invite if any team wants to take a shot on a 5'6" 180 lb 41 year-old. Godspeed sir.

Rumours dejour!
Until I hear something here (Ottawa) on the radio I will doubt every passing rumour that has come its way. The only deal that has materialized has been the Edmonton offer that eventually Heatley’s camp turned down so as it stands, to the dismay of the Senators and their fanbase, Heatley is still a Senator. But if I hear something I’ll let everyone know.
Congratulations to Theo Fluery on his comeback attempt, if anything he has finally cleared his name and has shown everyone that he truly has turned the corner. Everyone has their inner-demons and unfortunately for Theo it got the best of him. All alcohol was to him was a supressant to his depression over some of the sickening things that happened to him during his time in Swift Current (Graham James).
Best of luck in the future Theo!
It's never about the eventual destination, but rather the long journey and its challenging obstacles that are presented and what it takes to overcome them, that makes the taste of success all the more worthwhile!!!
Eh, what the hell!
Let’s put the cherry on top of this banana sundae of an offseason and bring in Heatley! After all, Kaner’s controversy was officially dying down…so it’s time to start up the Magical Mystery Marketing Machine of Doctor Weirdly McD!

"What a farce." - Dale Tallon
This is a completely narrow-minded thought, but wouldn’t the Hawks be a better fit in the middle of this three-way than LA is?
Sharks get: Heatley
Hawks get: Marleau
Sens get: 2 of the Versteeg/Byfuglien/Sharp troika, plus the extra second-rounder for 2010.
Heatley gets what he wants. Hawks get a talented veteran leader whose deal expires after this season. Senators get a worthwhile haul for their sniper.
