Another piece of shit from the mainstream media!
This from ESPN.com's E.J. Hradek:
Pens vs. Caps needs better planning: NHL scheduling guru Steve Hatze Petros is a good guy with a tough job. Still, the league just can't schedule the Pittsburgh Penguins vs. the Washington Capitals on a night when there are 12 other games. It just doesn't make any sense. The Sidney Crosby-Alex Ovechkin rivalry gets national attention in the U.S. The league should take a page out of the NBA's playbook and limit the internal competition on those nights/days when the Caps and Pens meet. Last night, the NBA's Cavs-Lakers matchup was part of a two-game slate. In other words, basketball fans could focus on that game and the TV rating numbers likely will reflect that. The hockey fan, meanwhile, had to choose between too many other options. In major markets like New York, Philadelphia and Boston, puckheads were undoubtedly more interested in their hometown teams. Things are better for their next meeting. On Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 7), the Pens and Caps will have a matinee skate on NBC. Their last regular season showdown (April 6), however, will stand among 10 other games on that night. That's simply poor planning.
He does realize that the NHL's schedule is fucked up this year because of the Olympics, right? I mean, being a hockey writer and all? Not that I expect much solid hockey analysis from ESPN, but this really grated on me. Carry on.

What a flippin idiot!!!!!!!!
Hey, look at me, I write for ESPN and I complain about the schedule but I do not know that there is a winter Olympics because I am a not smart man.
Dumbass.
Just because your friend says she saw me in the club with some other bitches,
sitting in V.I.P,
Smoking, and drinking, and kicking it.
EJ, just a thought...
It would probably help if the the NHL was on a real American network, instead of Versus. If they want nationwide attention and exposure, put the game on a channel that most people have.
Oh, and there’s that whole scheduling clusterfuck issue with that Olympic thing.
Barf
I hate how ESPN makes it seem like the “Crosby-Ovechkin rivalry” is ZOMG THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN HOCKEY EVUR!!!!! It’s such a crime that the entire country wasn’t forced to watch them play and that fans of other teams were able to watch their other teams! OH NOES!!!
The power play is still f**king clown shoes

If you look at,
Pierre LeBruns page, it gets worse. In his weekly rants article someone asked him how he felt about the Hawks/wings match last weekend. His reply was
I missed Sunday’s Wings-Hawks game (was too busy watching my Cowboys get their butts handed to them by the Vikings), so I can’t comment on No. 3.A fucking wannabe NHL reporter that doesn’t watch hockey, Nice.
I also noticed that PLs only award, according to his bio, is for covering the last lock-out. This tells me that his best writing was not about hockey. I have no problem believing that.

Pierre LeBrun has no credibilty to begin with and this just adds to it.
His “insiders” or “sources” that "tell him "are usually fabricated ideas that he came up with while taking the morning shower ie; the Kovalchuk deal to Chicago. Or anything to do with the NHLPA which, thankfully, continues to get shot down everytime Healy joins him on the Hot Stove.
This “someone told me” shtick that continues to go with every week is getting so ridiculous that HNIC shoud start playing the Killers song in the background because he says it in every report which leads me to believe that there is little truth to any of it.
It's never about the eventual destination, but rather the long journey and its challenging obstacles that are presented and what it takes to overcome them, that makes the taste of success all the more worthwhile!!!
Is he serious? That HAS to be a joke.

Wow
I actually had to go to Pierre LeBrun’s blog (my eyes are burning right now) to see if he actually wrote this. I’m not sure who’s worse: LeBrun or the idiots who were writing in questions for him.

The whole Crosby/Ovechkin rivalry
Means more to ESPN than the NHL. They had a feature asking you to vote which rivalry meant more to their sport: Kobe/LeBron or Ovie/Crosby.
The Ovechkin/Crosby thing is nice for the NHL, but their fanbase is far more team oriented than the superstar-based NBA. So the answer to ESPN’s question is: “shut up about hockey until you start showing games again”
