Please spare me the "He's a good offensive defenseman..."
Brian Campbell freakin' sucks. How many times is he going to peel off his man and continue skating backwards into the defensive zone. He has done it twice in the last two games alone (watch the footage) goal # 1 for the Sharks the other day - Shark stops at the blue line, Campbell just keeps right on backing up despite having plenty of backchecking help (on top of that lets another forward get past him) - the Shark that had pulled up passes to the other Shark that Campbell let skate right past him, pass across the crease....goal!!!!
Tonight the go ahead goal...Cane player stops at the blue line, Campbell keeps backing up, now screening Huet, the Cane puts the puck towards the net, deflection...goal!!!!
It's bad enough that since he got his big contract he has become a complete PUSSY (he refuses to hit anybody) but now he can't even play basic defense either? Gone are the days of hits like the one he planted on R.J. Umburger when he was in Buffalo.
I think this team has enough offense without him, so I'd be oh so greatful if he (and his way too large contract for what we are getting) could be gone at the trade deadline. I can't stand the way he plays, I can't believe that our commentators don't comment on how many stupid mistakes he makes during the course of a game....i can't freakin' stank that freakin' Summer's Eve Douchebag!!!

Sad to say but I have a question
Is there any other hockey blogs here on SBN Nation that has these types of pathetic excuses of fanposts? Seriously this is the only one I know of that gets these on a consistant basis,

Does this site have a waiting period? I joined a whole bunch of SBN blogs, mostly hockey and a couple baseball. Some you could join instantly, many were 1-day waits, and a couple (Cubs and Penguins, I believe) you had to wait 2 days. Not that that would necessarily work, just mentioning it.
Of course I thought the waiting period was more to keep out Pens-bashing Wings or Caps fans or whatever, not alleged supporters of the team…

I remember seeing that Shark guy pass to another Shark guy who passed that black thingy to that other Shark guy. It’s so rare to see a triple play! I think if fucking lazy ass Campbell would’ve slid, he’d have been safe. I really thought the Hawks would come back in the 4th quarter though…
I also remember another team that had a problem with a player who kept going when everyone else stopped in the defensive zone. One time, he ran staight into the locker room! What a tard! That makes me piss myself everytime. I think his name was Forest. The fans came up with a solution though and held up a really really big sign that said “Stop!” I wonder if the Hawks can do that for Campbell??
I gotta go now and jerk off to an Andrew Dice Clay video I got on VCR…

that could get unreal. Also, not to get all Freud and whatnot, but the two all-CAPS words from him are “BLOWS” and “PUSSY” and his username I assume is from the blowjob line in Clerks. I can’t quite connect the dots but it seems like he’s trying to tell us something.

Campbell is 8th among all defensemen with 34 points. and 9th in assits
and tenth among defensemen with a +16 rating
now, while whether or not Campbell is worth his caphit may be debatable.
However, he does not blow, and I don’t really even see where that point is up for debate.
And while Anahiem returns to the locker room, Todd Bertuzzi is cuffed and returns to the squad car.

Forgive me if this was complained about above...
but here’s what really bugs me about this post.
Please spare me the “He’s a good offensive defenseman…”
Once I read that, I completely blanked out most of what followed. It’s looking at things from such a one-sided angle that it’s impossible to even start a discussion. I know blue liners are expected to fill that roll a bit more but I really don’t see how it’s any different than looking at someone like Madden and saying “spare me the ’he’s a really good defensive forward’”… If Madden doesn’t put up points do we get a ton of people jumping down his throat? Of course not, that’s not his role. Campbell is not and will never be a shut down D-man. That’s not what we want. The fact that Campbell actually has been remarkably solid in his own zone is totally lost on this guy… so it goes
On a non-breaking-Matt's-balls note...
I’d like to know where there’s a better second pair in the NHL than Hjammer and Campbell.
Shit, they’d be one of the better first pairs in the league.
