Since the season is about to mercifully begin and we shouldn't have to wonder too much longer what is going to happen, I propose the top 10 most annoying things that will be said this season by us and possible others.
1 . He's the new Ladd, Burish, Versteeg, Niemi, Huet, Buff, Fraser, Sopel (sigh)
2 . Niemi would have made that save
3 . Why isn't Buff playing?
4 . Campbell isn't worth his money
5 . Q needs to be fired (this will most likely come from me)
6 . The Hawks cannot beat the Canucks without Buff
7 . We need an enforcer like we had last year with Buff
8 . If Toews is so good, why doesn't he lead the team in points?
9 . John Scott is no Zdeno Chara (no shit)
10 . Shoot the puck Kane, why do you always pass?

I’ll be guilty of that at at least some point.
laaarmer hit the nail on the head with “Niemi would’ve made that save.” Even if there comes a time where it would be true, it will still be the most useless and irritating type of comment.

not really – but I do suspect he will struggle at least a bit out there (I don’t wish it on him, I think he is a very decent guy and all, I just don’t think he will shine brightly out ther from the get-go)

along with “Fuck Scum” before games that we’re not playing Detroit. We make fun of Detroit fans for having a complex – and then we go and do it EVERY game. Nothing like being the obsessed “little brother.” Ugh.

I think that TMFF’s thing, so he’s my personal exclusion to the rule. I’d be disappointed if I don’t see a blinking Fuck Scum on Saturday.

which is the main reason I give it a pass.

that’s what the Red Sox do with the “Yankees Suck” chant. and I don’t want to be like Boston fans, or else i wouldn’t have left Boston. Hell, they were yelling “Yankees Suck” and the Patriots’ super bowl celebrations. gag.

I bet we will hear it. At some point during the season, Turco will hit a little rough patch like goalies often do (or could get hurt, need rest, etc.), and Crawford will be brought in to play more. All it will take is for Crawford to have a couple sub par performances and then we’ll hear about bringing Huet back. We might not even hear it from people here on SCH…it could more likely originate from our super-duper Chicago media. You’ve seen it before – the media around here just loves a good quarterback/goalie/pitcher controversy…even if it makes zero sense.

That’s assuming that the newer breed of Hawks fans knows a team outside the Hawks, let alone in another conference. And he is a defenseman, like those guys know about an Eastern conference Defenseman. You’re giving people the benefit of the doubt here!
