windmill-phobia

and a hatred of wooden shoes

There are only two things I hate in this world...

People unaccepting of other people’s cultures…

AND THE DUTCH.

I'm also guessing that she is closer to my son's age

and our wives would take a dim view of either of us hitting on anyone (and they are both NRA members – so not to be provoked like that)

God

you married an NRA member? You certainly gave yourself a short leash.

3 reasons to not hate on the Dutch

1. There’s where all the tall hot blondes, that everyone thinks live in Sweden, actually live.
2. Who else could figure out how to make comfortable shoes out of wood?
3. Sinterklaas – now that’s a bad ass Santa

Shit, you fockers beat me to it

Well, folks, I want to thank you for being here for the recording of my live comedy album. Funny material and laughter will be dubbed in later.

maybe he is wearing some right now

And that Sinterklaas looks like a Santa X Bishop hybrid

by K_Dog on Feb 26, 2010 5:11 PM CST up reply actions

In America...

“You better behave or Santa won’t bring you presents.”

In Holland…
“You better behave or Sinterklaas WILL KICK YOUR PUNY LITTLE ASS!”

by ChicagoNativeSon on Feb 26, 2010 5:20 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah

You know how lots of kids here are scared of Santa when they go to see him? Imagine the fear response when they’re forced to sit on Sinterklaas’ lap.

by K_Dog on Feb 26, 2010 5:32 PM CST up reply actions

Especially since he appears to be

a member of the clergy…

“Now remember, NO sitting on Sinterklaas’s lap!”

There’s where all the tall hot blondes, that everyone thinks live in Sweden, actually live.

no those blondes come from the Czech/Hungarian areas…like all those Victoria Secret models.

Tremendously Tremendous

by Crease Monkey on Feb 26, 2010 7:16 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah I do

because I prefer things wholesale. Gotta find the source.

Actually I lived in Europe for 2 years and the short built-for-comfort blondes come from Czech/Hungary/etc.
The people of Holland are really beautiful as a whole. Probably because they literally ride bikes everywhere. It’s like being in China.

I respect your hopes … but hope in turn that they are continually dashed from this moment until the end of your life.

On another note, no one who knows hockey in any way, shape or form, believes that this game is going to be easy or assumes that we’ll win.

by ChicoMaki on Feb 26, 2010 5:17 PM CST up reply actions

Oh you guys will win

and it will be easy. In fact I strongly recommend you have the boys make their Vancouver limo plans for tonight starting about now.

by Scott13 on Feb 26, 2010 5:53 PM CST up reply actions

I like where you’re going with this wink wink

by K_Dog on Feb 26, 2010 5:54 PM CST up reply actions

All I'm saying is

that Vancouver is a happening place on a Friday night and if you don’t plan early all the good puck bunnies will already be taken (and probably by the Russians) and the good cocktails need time to propery chill. So stop worrying about Kopecky and whatever d-grade talent they’ve surrounded him with and focus on what’s important.

by Scott13 on Feb 26, 2010 5:57 PM CST up reply actions

Honest to God - I wish I knew that anything like that was going to happen

I was figurling that we ought to win, but not absolutely sure that it would happen (ask Rusia or Sweden about shitting the bed).

I was overjoyed to see the first half to 2/3 of the first period.

Maybe it is the old coach in me, but I’ve been on both sides of upset games, and hate sweating out an OT. I want a 5-0 lead in the first, and to get to happily role my lines over 1, 2, 3, 4. Everyone plays and the stars don’t get ground down – and everyone goes home happy. That is my kinda tournament or championship game.

by krome on Feb 26, 2010 4:44 PM CST reply actions

Not just the old coaches

Old players and fans feel the same way.

by Badgerdano on Feb 26, 2010 5:37 PM CST up reply actions

by meeshak on Feb 26, 2010 5:39 PM CST up reply actions

Holy Crap....

Well that was unexpected, but awesome. Actually got to watch this one on the Talkin’ Picture Box here in England. That being said…

I now have a greater appreciation for Edzo and Foley after watching this game on the BBC. I didn’t think anyone could make hockey sound less interesting than they did. It sounded like they were watching a Tiger-less round of golf. I can not wait for the NHL to get started again and those two to paint a tremendously tremendous picture of Blackhawks hockey.

nice

Glad you got to see it. Hope they put the gold medal game on the tallkin picture box for you too

I ALMOST miss Pierre McDouchebag… Almost.

by Delta0ne1 on Feb 26, 2010 5:11 PM CST up reply actions

It was quite traumatizing, they took all the joy out of the game. Thankfully it got loud enough at the bar so you couldnt hear em after like the first 5 min.

Olli Jokinen

Every time his face was on camera, I was thinking “ugly baby” from that Down Goes Brown video. I love it.

by K_Dog on Feb 26, 2010 5:18 PM CST reply actions

Are you serious?

No, I’m Olli Jokinen.

(I just think that’s funny, I don’t care that mostly only ten-year-olds would agree with me.)

I’m not ten years old, and I’m not ashamed to say I found that really funny. I can’t wait to use that one in the future (I’ll give you credit, of course).

The real question is...

I WANT SOME TOO

I was working during the actual game but I just got done watching it off my dvr. After the game was over I immediately started cranking Everybody Wants Some on the stereo and then went here to see if you guys had put it up. It’s nice to know there are some things you can count on in this world.
