Barry Rozner Comes Out Of Cave, Sees Shadow, Means 6 More Weeks Of Total Bull----

I have to assume this came from the "I'm totally going to make something up so I can sound like a journalist for a day" pile he's got on his desk.  I don't know if Rozner has actually talked to anyone or not, but the idea of James Wisniewski coming back to Chicago is laughable, except for any slight possibility of it happening makes me break out in cold sweats.  As McClure pointed out when we talked about this, the only possible reason Stan Bowman would do this is to gain popularity amongst the droolers and non-ironic mustache wearers of Hawks Nation.

What purpose could he possibly serve?  With Keith and Campbell QB-ing both power play units, it can't be that.  Would he be the trigger man on the second unit?  Great, so we can watch shots get blocked or rocket off the glass in a pattern only a blood-splatter expert would love.  He's not big, so he can't clear the front of the net on the kill which Barker can (but doesn't always).

Oh, and the best part.  HE'S A CHINESE FIRE DRILL IN HIS OWN END!  Still is.  He's been in the league a few years now, and he still makes some decisions that defy explanation.  We talked with Ducks fans when they were here, and an overwhelming majority of them are at slit-wrists level of frustration with Wiz's cluelessness in his own end.  Did no one watch Game 7 against Scum where he almost single handedly handed them three goals?  Worse yet, his shotgun up the ice tendencies would leave Sopel completely exposed.  While Catfish has been more than solid this year, that would greatly changed when his lead feet are asked to play center field.  This is an asinine rumor, and if it comes to fruition I can finally hand in my verdict on Stan Bowman, and that would be "boob".

While it's no secret the Hawks would like to bolster their 3rd pairing, and Barker's high salary and lackluster play make him the leading candidate to hit the skids, this is clearly a case of Rozner adding 2 and 2 and getting 5.

While I'm on the subject, there's far too much smoke about the Hawks looking for a goalie to make me comfortable.  I don't know how people could have watched, and I mean actually watch the game and not read the statsheet, and conclude the goaltending has been the problem.  If the Hawks go off the rails in the playoffs, their recent defensive asshoolery and Doofus University on the power play would give me far more heartburn than the goalies.

And no name sets my pecker on fire, to quote Congressman David Dilbeck.  Tim Thomas?  35 and paid 5 million for the next four years, and he's been stunningly mediocre this season.  Dwayne Roloson?  Even older, and aside from one great run in 2006, what's he done, exactly?  He's never had a regular season SV% above .917 or a GAA under 2.70.  Keep going.

Marty Turco?  Finished.  Giguere's gone to Toronto.  Is there anyone left?  Jaro Halak?  Why would Montreal give him up when they've clearly tired of Carey PriceCam Ward is hurt again.  Even if the Hawks go and find another netminder, what's to be done with this Cristobal Huet?  Stash him in the minors?  Yeah, great, I'm sure people will be lining up in the summer to take him then.

I can't stand this mentality that the Hawks have to win this year or we'll never win again.  Don't get me wrong, I want a Cup this season more than I want love, success, happiness, or McClure to leave me alone forever.  But is this our only chance?  Come on.  The Hawks will ice a Top-6 next year made up of Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp, Bolland, and Brouwer AT WORST.  Their Top-4 defensemen will be Keith, Seabrook, Campbell, and almost certainly Hammer (they'll never let him go).  So tell me, how bad can that team be?

-One more thing that's grinding my gears.  Why doesn't anyone question Washington's goaltending as much as ours?  Jose Theodore has been middling for years now.   Semyon Varlamov had a few good games in the playoffs last year, but he also had some real bad ones, and has all of 22 career games in the NHL.  And the Hawks blue line corps is more solid than the Caps.  But this is me getting all Second City persecuted again.

Rant over.

Anyhow, I agree with you totally- these trade rumors are getting ridiculous. You hit the nail perfectly- the Hawks have a top-6 and top-4 of forwards and defensemen that will be their core for years to come- that is about half the team. And if I were on any other team, those 10 players on one team is pretty damn impressive.

Sure, I want the big shiny silver Cup in June, but they have set themselves up to be contenders for a very long time to come.

I don't see this happening...

with Wisniewski or any goaltender at this point. Not to mention, there has been ZERO credible sources suggesting this potential deal for Wisniewski and only whispers of Turco but nobody else. Jeff Marek, of HNIC, only suggested that Thomas could be a fit for the ’Hawks not that he was coming here.

Once again the only deal that I’ve read or heard from a credible souce is Darren Dreger’s Andrej Meszaros from Tampa Bay coming here for Versteeg or Sharp and Barker reported rumour last week. But we all know that Sharp won’t be part of this deal so it’s likely Versteeg.

By the way...

Cam Ward is never happening. Not now, not ever as Jim Rutherford would never trade him unless the Hawks were willing to part with Toews and we all know that is never going to happen either.

Exactly.

Cam Ward and Erik Staal might be even more important to the Canes than Toews and Kane are to the Hawks. They would face an absolute fan backlash if they were to trade Ward (unless it were for Ovechkin or Crosby).

No Wiz = No Wins........

just kidding……..who remembers that ridiculous sign?

Wiz is not the answer, if the right blueliner isn’t there at the deadline there is no need to just pluck someone off of the scrap heap.

In regards to Huet, I’d like to quote the early 21st century philosopher Tom Waddle….“Don’t tell me how choppy the water is…..dock the boat.” All this talk about Huet and no one can provide a feasible solution, because as Sam pointed out, there aren’t any. We can win with our goaltending, you know what would help though, that other Anaheim defenseman, you know the gray beard that you can actually trust for some solid two way play on the blueline.

I demand more SCH opinion pieces, because this is awesome.

If Jose Theodore is the Capitals netminder for the playoffs...

Expect an early exit from the playoffs with the Capitals. I don’t care how much offence you have if your goaltender is that poor you’re going to lose. Especially if they run into teams like Ottawa, New Jersey, and Buffalo.

by hawks61 on Feb 8, 2010 2:16 PM CST reply actions

Right on Point

Although they have all those offensive weapons the Caps will struggle with mechanical teams that stick to their disciplined system. They will try to suffocate the Caps as they know running with them is dumb. And as a last defense their goaltenders are world-class (excluding Elliot but damn he’s currently playing really well).

The Caps are a fantastic exciting team but I just don’t see players like Semin, Green and Backstrom handling the physicality of the playoffs when they are used to cruising through the creampuff Southeast division and Eastern Conference in general.

by alpo on Feb 8, 2010 3:22 PM CST up reply actions

So...

Why is it the Caps goaltending won’t get them through the playoffs but ours will when it’s almost identical, minus the GAA? What happens when we run into those same mechanical teams that are supposed to take the Caps out of the playoffs?

by Ban on Feb 8, 2010 9:32 PM CST up reply actions

Because offensively oriented teams don't win championships

just like the Saints will never win the Super – wait, what?

I see your argument, but I think hawks61’s point is that Theodore really sucks.
It can be said that Huet is having an off year, but Theodore is probably having his best year since ‘03. And that’s not saying much.

Uh yea...you totally read that wrong

If your going into the playoffs with an average goalie you better have a great defensive corp or system that prevents him from seeing quality chances. The Capitals do not possess that trait.

very very very good point about Theodore.

Also, this whole post. None of the trade rumors right now make any SENSE, from an on-ice point of view.

by gmh on Feb 8, 2010 2:28 PM CST reply actions

They talk just as much crap about Theodore as we do about Huet

I believe the difference is that Theodore can make a first save better than anybody. And I mean that. His biggest issue is giving up rebounds, and not just the rebounds that he can cover up, but the rebounds that bounce all the way to the slot. These are the types of rebounds that offensive-minded defensemen don’t clear out and snipers but in the net.

by warrenjm2006 on Feb 9, 2010 7:56 AM CST up reply actions

While watching Saturday's game I thought the same about Niemi

he made a lot of beautiful first saves but gave up some big rebounds. The difference was our defense did an awesome job of clearing out the crease. He has a lot of raw talent that I hope he continues to develop.

Caps Goaltending

Is just as shit storm unpredictable as ours. The real difference (totally ignoring defense’s existence for simplicity) lies in their offense.

I hate the Caps almost as much as humanly possible. As sad as it is to admit, they simply have better offensive numbers than us.

If we were putting up 5 goals a game, we would not be hearing about our goaltending woes either.

Caps Better Offensive Numbers

Because of better talent, better chemistry, crap conference, or sheer will (Ovi)?

Don’t we have all these “weapons” at our disposal, especially as Hossa & Bolland get back to “game form”? Shoot, sometimes Q-tip looks as confused as we are as to how to get the offense/PP going again as he plays musical chairs w/ the lines.

As our offense/PP goes the way of Global Warming (and H1N1), we’ve looked pretty average these last few games…and I HATE average.

by 2dogs on Feb 8, 2010 8:22 PM CST up reply actions

Name calling was dumb. My bad.

I see where you might assume I meant goaltending. What I meant is that the other eastern conference teams play a tighter defensive system than the Capitals and as a bonus have a better goalie to supplement their system. The Capitals seem to have gone all in with offense and see what happens. I just don’t see the space being available for the Capitals to make plays like in the regular season. Also come playoff times the referees seem to pretend some rules don’t exist and contact/interference becomes more prevalent.

To me there is a distinct difference between the Capitals and Blackhawks. Our great defensive corp is supplemented with excellent backchecking from our forwards. Its beautiful to see the combination work and chances suffocated. I haven’t watched the Caps enough to comment on the defensive prowess of their forwards but I’m assuming from reading comment from Boudreau that he’d like a greater emphasis on defensive responsibility.
I’m rambling but come playoff time I feel its the teams with defensive responsibility and opportune goals that end up winning the cup. The penguins won with Max freaking Talbot potting two goals

by alpo on Feb 9, 2010 8:03 AM CST up reply actions

a combination of all of the above prolly...

I would love to say it is because of a crap conference, but let’s face it – we were hard pressed to pot more than 2 against Carolina, St. Louis, and Ottawa – not exactly defensive or goaltending powerhouses let alone point hording animals in their own right.

A lack of excuses for our low offensive numbers are exactly what’s behind Q’s Dr Kevorkian’esque line shifting. And I say slash away, our offense is nowhere near where it should be. Remember when we beat SJ 7-2 in the tank? That was Hoss man’s first game back, lines haven’t really been firing on all cylinders ever since then. I think Q got too comfortable with Kane-Toews-Brouwer and now is beginning to fully realize how much bigger and better we can be.

What I love

Is how every writer glosses over the fact none of the goalies the Hawks are supposedly looking at have good playoff records. That’s the biggest reason Huet is going to ruin our season, right? He has next to no playoff experience.

Turco was always considered a choker in the playoffs. He had that 1 series against the Canucks a few years ago, then blew it in the 2nd round. He’s a better option than Huet?

Tim Thomas has all of 1 playoff series win, or is it 2? Can’t remember now if the B’s beat the Habs a couple years ago….either way, after the sweep of Montreal last season, he then promptly blew their 2nd round series against the 7-seed Hurricanes. I don’t see the upgrade there.

Sure Cam Ward would be nice but that will never happen. How can a writer seriously float that as a legit rumor? Ward, along with Staal, is the rock of the Canes organization.

Roloson is the only goalie I’ve thought about the Hawks possibly picking up. He’s played for some piss-poor teams in his career and still put up decent numbers. If he hadn’t gotten hurt in the 2006 finals, he’d probably have a Stanley Cup to his name.

That being said, he’s 40 and I’m not sure he’s an upgrade over Huet anyways. Plus, believe it or not the Isles are in the playoff hunt and if they do trade a goalie, it will be Biron, not Roloson.

It’s just dumb the crap that gets passed off as journalism by these hacks.

Here’s what the clown said:
I am hearing that Madden may be on his way out in Chicago, and I will go on the record saying this is a huge mistake. Right now, it is a numbers game, but I was under the impression the experience of all of those Stanley Cup Playoff games in NJ was why Madden was signed. The Hawks are playing great right now and not really needing what it is Madden brings. But the second season is a totally new beast. All I know is that another defenseman is needed

Cam Barker is useless. And Keith, Campbell and Hammer are all being run into the ground to the point we should be very concerned over the consequences come late season and playoff hockey.

Wiz? Not much of a fan, but he IS better than Barker. Not much doubt about that. Barker has significantly regressed to the point I’m wondering about post-concussion syndrome or too much booze in the veins.

Marty Turco? Something tells me Stan and Daddy like this idea. Which makes me unhappy.

and consequently, they’re going to be lesser players because of it. The oldest guy is 26 years old. How are we going to be acting when they actually start getting up there in years.

They play 20-something minutes a night; just like every other team’s top defensemen.

ANd it is pissing Keith off. Hence why he tried to impersonate Denny Savard the other night by going coast to coast.

The defense is playing like crap. A step slow, coughing up the puck and stupid penalties. Plus Barker has devolved into an outright liability. It’s a problem in need of a fix, especially for a team that doesn’t exactly have Patrick Roy in his prime in the goal.

Much as Huet makes me nervous, there are plenty of downgrades available, and no upgrades.

Regarding Wiz, I just saw on bleacher report that Tab Bamford is quoting Rozner (oxymoron?) and there is a reader survey that shows fans are 90 – 10 in favour of Wiz coming back???

this is the worst part about "bandwagon" fans

they don’t remember this lead-footed steak-head for the way he plays. They remember him blowing out his knee fighting Tootoo. (It was pretty awesome). I hate Jughead (Barker), but jeez, come on….are they going to pair him with Sopel? GREAT IDEA.

I'd venture to guess most bandwagon fans

have no recollection of his fight with Tootoo because they don’t really know what kind of player Wiz iz. Wiz is simply another name and in their minds unknown > known.

Thank you

I was thinking the same thing. It’s useless crap. It doesn’t make sense to move someone. If you wanna add another D, fine but not the names that are out there. I dont think Thomas is all that bad but I just don’t see the point of the trade right now, Huet and Niemi can be exactly what we need for this year if we can just stop the turnovers and play our game for the whole 60. Everything is now or never or some bullshit to write an article b/c it’s the “cool thing” these days.

Wiz is useless to trade for and is actually a downgrade. Have you seen him play? Lets just get March 3rd overwith.

As much as Barker annoys me, and I did love Wiz, just cause, I would think Barker has more ability to improve his game over time than Wiz.

I’d still rather have Hendry in for Barker, but unless they find someone really good to fill Barker’s spot, what’s the point of a trade like that?

I never was a fan of mid-season trades

I know it‘s part of just about every sport, but it’s institutionalized cheating to me. Why should a team be able to decide mid-season that "Oops, we fucked up. Let’s cannibalize another team that’s (typically) having a shitty year." Once one contender makes a big move it often forces other teams to follow suit in order to win this year, and too often at the expense of the team’s future.

I have no problem with a team bringing up players from their own developmental teams but other than that, what’s wrong with the concept of finishing the season with the team you started? Why solve cap issues this year instead of dealing with them in the offseason? It seems to me like an annual "get out of jail free" card that enables GMs to make and correct reckless decisions.

As a fan I feel a connection with the team that I watch day in and day out, even with its "flaws". No team is perfect. To see players that I cheer for, or even tease, replaced by a "rental" dilutes the whole experience for me. Maybe it’s my personal pipe dream that this practice will change and probably many will disagree with my opinion, but seeing that everyone is bitching about outlandish trade rumors, I’m curious to hear what others think. Hey, at least it would put an end to the issue of people posting “Trade (insert name of whatever player who had a subpar game here)!”

Sorry! I guess I had a bit of a rant building up inside me reading all of this trade gobbledygook.

Well, folks, I want to thank you for being here for the recording of my live comedy album. Funny material and laughter will be dubbed in later.

combating gobbleygook with gobbleygook?

You make it seem like no one has a choice in the matter, but trades are a two way street. Mid-season and off season trades help struggling teams rebuild. Look at Atlanta, they were going to lose Kovalchuk and get nothing in return. If teams want to mortgage part of their future for a rental player and things don’t work out, they are only cheating themselves.

"In an ideal world I would have all 10 fingers on my left hand so my right hand could just be a fist for punching."

by Hack on Feb 8, 2010 5:39 PM CST up reply actions

I agree that teams have a choice in the matter

but it does often add pressure to make some “improvements” before the playoffs.

It’s currently completely legal and accepted so why wouldn’t a team take advantage of the rules? My point was that I would prefer if mid-season trading didn’t exist.

Regarding situations like Kovalchuk, for me it goes back to my comment about GMs not keeping their house in order. They should’ve taken care of that in the offseason – but again, mid-season trading is legal, so why would they? That argument become an endless circle.

Well, folks, I want to thank you for being here for the recording of my live comedy album. Funny material and laughter will be dubbed in later.

How's that Kovalchuk experiment going?

They just lost again to Philadelphia 3-2 after leading 2-0 and are now 1-3-0 with him. If it wasn’t for the Leafs vomitting all over themselves late in the 3rd Friday, the Devils could easily be 0-4 since the deal.

Sometimes these deals don’t work and this might be one of them just like Calgary with Jokinen last season.

and it definitely sucks when a player who’s well-liked gets traded away, but I think something has to be said for good players who languish on bad teams — it’s good for them to be able to go to a contender instead of being wasted talent.

I don’t think it’s a perfect (or necessarily even a good) system but I’m not sure how you’d do it better. Also, a lot of GMs mess up their teams with trades… maybe that’s still considered cheating but not a good kind.

The perception of a goaltending issue

Makes my sack hurt. Glad it’s not just me. It’s actually ruining how I watch the games. Cause every goal that’s given up I have to analyze whether it was a good goal to give up or not. That way I have an argument when I run into a meatball.

Then I think to myself… there’s no such think as a good goal against!

These meatball fans that call the Score and show up here need to go away, or need to be learned about what hockey is and that every goal that is given up isn’t always the goalies fault. (run on sentence) It’s an overly simplistic view of hockey, much like what Rick Morrissey +wrote the other day.

And shame on Brian Hanley. He should know better, but what did I hear on Thursday morning….. Huet won’t win the cup and goaltending is bad. Huet had no chance on any of those goals… watch the games if you want to talk about it…douche….

another angle

Let’s say that we do trade for an old goalie (ie, Turko, Roloson). Many think that a trade for one of these goalies would mean that Niemi would be going in the trade. Where does this leave us for the future? Niemi is our best young goalie, and in an ideal scenario, he either plays well enough to steal the job from Huet (during this year or one of the next two) or when Huet’s contract is up, Niemi takes the job and runs with it.

I understand that we haven’t seen enough of Antti to annoint him the starter of the future, but he seems to be the closest thing we’ve got. If we end up with two aging goalies for the next year or two, we may end up screwing ourselves when Kane, Toews, etc are in their prime.

other than the handful of Hawks games in 07-08 he hasn't done much.

He’s been fine in Rockford, but he definiety hasn’t lived up to the Hawks expectations. He lost the backup job to Niemi at the start of the season, and even when Niemi had the flu last week Fallon was called up instead. I don’t really have an issue with him, I was just mostly noting how at one point he was supposed to be Khabi’s next in line and instead everyone else is cutting in front.

by blackhawkeyes on Feb 8, 2010 10:32 PM CST up reply actions

I was under the impression that when Niemi had the flu, they didn’t want to bring up Crawford cos of the money he makes and that he would have to clear some sort of waivers in order to be called up or something like that. New thought

…playoff tandem.

Several comments recently have alluded to Niemi’s success being due to his freshness, like a rookie pitcher enjoying success his first time through the league.

If there is anything to this, maybe the Hawks don’t overexpose Niemi the rest of the year. If he can win 1 game in each playoff round, the Hawks can advance with just average goaltending otherwise, which seems like a reachable bar.

When Washington went with Varlomov over Theodore after Jose sucked early in last year’s playoffs, the guy was amazing…for a while. But the Pens eventually figured him out.

by cliffkoroll on Feb 9, 2010 10:51 AM CST up reply actions

Goalies

are always going to end up exposed, and yea he is new but he’s been around. It’s not like he is some 18 year old outta Grande Prairie.

Playoff series are a whole ‘nother animal, goalies are always going to get figured out, it’s just a matter of their skill and athleticism, which Niemi possess. When they throw around the phrase of “______ has been solved” it just means they know what to do to beat them, but they still have to be able to get the opportunities to do so.

Anyone catch those splits against the Blues on Saturday?…the kid can play.

BOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!

by SharpKane on Feb 9, 2010 11:06 AM CST up reply actions

Totally agree with where you're going with this

I have absolutely no problem with the Hawks playing a tandem arrangement during the playoffs. I disagree that they need to keep Niemi from being overexposed though. In reality, he’s talented but needs more work.

Q has been playing Huet and Niemi about 2 starts to 1 respectively all season. I have no reason to believe he won’t continue that in the playoff. One of them would have to really catch fire to see otherwise.

Well, folks, I want to thank you for being here for the recording of my live comedy album. Funny material and laughter will be dubbed in later.

by ChicagoNativeSon on Feb 9, 2010 11:37 AM CST up reply actions

Not sure...

…my gut says Niemi isn’t as good as his (small sample size) numbers to date suggest, and I offered a theory as to why.

His performance this year (which I would definitely take more of) has been despite getting only occassional starts, so I’m not sure he “needs more work” to perform.

Having said that, the guys may actually split more like 50/50 after the break, because of the compressed schedule (21 games in 41 days for the Hawks.) In fact, the scheduling seems like a bit of luck for the Hawks, who can win half the time regardless of thier goaltending, compared to teams that rely on one goalie.

Since it looks like we can trade for anybody (for pretty much any reason). Hell I'll add my idea for 'Hawks trades

Here are my Proposals

Barker and Kopechky for Rafalski and Zetterberg
Bickell and Dowell for Ovechkin, Semin, and Green
Skille, Crawford, and a MP3 of a Real Hockey Goal Horn Sound for Thorton, Heatley and Nabakov
Bag of Pucks for Brodeur

All Problems Solved

If it works don't go and F*** it up!

I'll take Thorton and Nabakov

But I don’t want Heatley near Kane or Toews, lest one of them decide to go for a ride with Dany…

thorton

i realize this is a joke, but why on earth would we ever want thorton. he’s such a shrinking violet when crunch time comes. i would never want him on my team. ever.

I would like to nominate you as next GM of the Wings.

why?

because i don’t like joe thorton?

by modnar on Feb 9, 2010 10:05 AM CST up reply actions

Short answer - yes.

Long answer – Joe Thornton is one of the best in the game. Saying you wouldn’t want him on your team because of the Sharks playoff performances (he has lead the team in points each of the last two postseasons) is about as ridiculous as those claiming they wouldn’t want A-rod because of his initial post-season troubles.

Eventually, talent will triumph.

agree to disagree

i realize that thorton is a great talent and his ability to find people in space while threading it through all the legs/sticks/bodies can be something to behold. that being said i have a feeling we’re going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

i wouldn’t want him on my team.

my feelings on thorton don’t just cover his playoff performance, they cover the last two seasons as a whole. his ability to disappear in games is something that would infuriate me as a fan. it seems to me at least, that if you have a couple of big bodies that can take away the half boards from him, it takes him off his game and out of the game as a whole. he refuses to adjust and try things like going to the net, shooting or paying the price to make the assist. the tighter checking the game or series, the more content he is to fade into the background.

if that makes me the future gm of detroit than that is unfortunate because i hate the wings.

That would be perfect, you could destroy them from the inside out, like a secret agent or a spy.

wait what?

secret agent

i always wondered why this didn’t happen in sports. i guess contracts and such make it difficult.

about the closest is when the blues traded tkachuck a couple of years ago and then resigned him in the summer.

Disappeared into the background

while leading his team in points.

Agree to disagree as well.

points

2007-2008 playoff points
calgary, 7 games, 7 points (series win)
dallay, 6 games, 3 points (series loss)

2008-2009 playoff points
anahiem, 6 games, 5 points (3 in one game) (series loss)

by my count, in the last two series losses, if you take out game 5 against anahiem, he’s had 5 points in 11 games and his team has gone 3-8 in those games.

i was at that game 5 against anahiem at the tank. he played great and the rush in ot he had two shots and controlled the rebound around the net and got it in front for marleu to cram it home.

game 6 was more the indictment since, after fighting getzlaf off the opening draw, he disappeared for the remainder of the game. a game his team had to have.

game 5 teases what he could be, game 6 is too often what he is.

just my take.

by modnar on Feb 9, 2010 1:53 PM CST up reply actions

If Joe Thornton joined the blackhawks

I would not be upset.

That he has not yet had a completely dominant playoff performance is no indicator that he will not in the future (noting this despite the fact he’s done more than anyone else on the team).

I tend to disagree with those who extrapolate all these character traits into small sample sizes. So he had a bad game in game 6 after a great game 5.

I’ll still take his talent when betting on who will produce in the 2010 playoffs.

we'd also need an industrial trash compactor

Also, each of these rumors makes less sense than the one that precedes it. I honestly don’t understand how we’re expected to swallow this tripe.

I almost read the comments to this entry.

But then I realized they’d be full of dumbass and so I didn’t. I feel this was a wise choice.

In other news, I agree with pretty much everything you said. Wiz trade = banana boat. Goaltending “controversy” = pointless, stupid, bare-ass clown feet that smell of eau d’COMPLETE FAILURE, etc. Trades for Turco/Rolly/Toskala/whoeverthefuck = rumors and nothing more, until actual paper gets actually signed.

Until then, I don’t worry, and I enjoy watching our team whip ass at every available opportunity. Life is still good, and will be even beyond the trade deadline.
