Madden on the Trade Block??
I found this blurb on Eklund's Hockeybuzz www.hockeybuzz.com and for those of you who don't know he is a self proclaimed hockey insider with all kinds of "legit" rumors that always pan out. Well if you couldn't tell I was being sarcastic, he is full of crap in most cases and just makes stuff up so that people will subscribe to his crap. (Canadians are very gullible apparently)
Anyways i wanted to nix this rumor before anybody in their right mind would even consider this. How this makes any sense is beyond me, considering as good as Madden has been we didn't even get him for the regular season, he is here to keep the young boys in line for the playoffs. Where people get these idea's i will never know . . . maybe this guy and Rozner hang out throwing darts against a wall!
"On John Madden...
I am hearing that Madden may be on his way out in Chicago, and I will go on the record saying this is a huge mistake. Right now, it is a numbers game, but I was under the impression the experience of all of those Stanley Cup Playoff games in NJ was why Madden was signed. The Hawks are playing great right now and not really needing what it is Madden brings. But the second season is a totally new beast. If Madden is available there are definitley teams I could see getting involved. Teams who have had playoff issues. San Jose and Calgary."
I know people are going to say why even post this? Well because as i said above this guy is supposedly "respected" and thus we may hear some grumblings out of this. I mean for all we know Bob McKenzie gets all his rumors from this Jamoke!

a numbers game?
The fact that he cites the reason for Madden being on the block is a “numbers game” removes all credibility in my book.
The hawks had enough tagging room to resign the big 3.
Hammer, Ladd, Niemi, Eager, Fraser, etc are all RFAs and don’t need to be signed until the offseason.
Madden is on a 1 year deal and therefore, doesn’t factor into next year’s cap crunch.
The only way Madden is on the block is if Bowman’s crew really wants to make a trade and no one will take Barker, Versteeg, or Buff.
Maybe by “numbers game” he means that we have 14 forwards going to 12 spots. But I can’t believe that the front office would trade Madden in favor of Fraser, Kopecky, Eager, or Burish. I know this rumor isn’t worth a response, but it is baffling.
"In an ideal world I would have all 10 fingers on my left hand so my right hand could just be a fist for punching."
Anyone who references HockeyBuzz for any reason should have their internet connection revoked.

Honestly
I had never heard of HockeyBuzz before until I read this post but after reading that poor excuse for an atricle above, I just had to rec Dr. Ice’s comment.

Yet another example..
of Eklund flat out making up bullshit to try to get hits. I wouldn’t pay any attention to this bit of info, in fact, I almost want to go in and remove the link just on principle…
Eklund blows but Jaekel isn't quite a liar
Just the other day, Jaekel said that the Hawks won’t trade for a goaltender. Elementary, yes. But I’m glad he said it. I’d post a link, but as stated above, that might cause people to read HockeyBull.
