Some of this week's events - who's going where?

So, Wednesday night is the Horshoe thing. Pricey, but a good cause that I'd like to support, and most likely fun. I still haven't decided if I'm going or not. If I bring the Kid I have to pay for him, and then it gets really pricey. However, I have no intention of driving out there and home alone. Who's going, anyone interested in carpooling?

NW Suburban events on Friday are Brouwer at the Relax the Back in Lincolnshire on Milwaukee from 4-6 PM, and Sharp and Tommy Hawk at the BG theater from 5-7. I am planning on going to at least one of those if not both. Anyone else going to these events? Maybe we can meet up for a beer or something.

If you’d asked about Soupy’s thing yesterday, I would have definitely gone with you. but now I have something to do tomorrow. I couldn’t get anyone to go with me.

As for Sharpie, I love him to death but I’m pretty sure there’s going to be a bunch of overdressed (underdressed?) bimbos there drooling over him and I’d rather see the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.

And the plan

for me is to hit up both with the Kid and possibly his g/f if she doesn’t have to work.

I’ve never been to one of these things, so I have no idea how this works. I do plan on asking Brouwer (if I’m given the chance and I remember) if he likes his new nickname. Figured I’d bring a CI to get signed.

Not sure if I'm going to be able to go after all.

I need to pick my car up from the stealership after work, and I’ll still need to get in my daily run… after all that’s over, I’m not sure I’ll be able to make it to the Brouw-town Ho-down

I usually run around the area. I run around the lake a lot, but that gets boring, so I run around the adjacent neighborhoods too.

I guess it wasn’t pointless. It was more the repetition of “I run” three times in two sentences that reminded me of Hemingway, but by the time I’d realized that was what it was, I’d already replied. I was also drunk on Scotch at the time.

This just seems like something you can’t miss… me and hjammer were throwing out what we think buff will do… these were our top 3 things he does/say/think
A. “yea i didn’t put enough time in thinking of nething so i’m just gonna eat them normal”
B. “drops the nugget gets pissed. and tries to check it and then leaves”
C “eats 2 in some half decent way… and then just decides to eat the rest normal thinking ‘hey i did something half decent for a moment, i’m good for the next week or two’”

Went to see Brouwer first, heard that the lines for Sharpie by 4:10 were crazy, so instead went to see Bolland in Northbrook.

It was pretty cool, some bandwagon fans, and Brouwer does NOT seem impressed with the nickname Yossarian, so try again Homer.

I don't think anyone "gets it" per my experience the other night (not that it matters, I like cults)

I stood up and yelled “Yossarian!” after Brouwer scored to see if I got any reaction but everyone just looked at me queerly and I basically sat quietly in my seat for the remainder of the game.

I was at home on the sofa with my wife and kids, not sure if mentioned this…

Well, I was trying to find out what his nickname is

and so it kinda came out.

Things were a lot more laid back (actually literally and figuratively) in Lincolnshire rather than over in Northbrook, which was nearly empty when we got there.
