shouldn't that last one
have gone fuckingly fucktastic or something – to fit with the meme developing there?
They're not getting it.
So fuck the fucking fuckers. (they are SO going to block this site on me, i just know it!)
Meme?
I might say “tremendously tremendous” is the original meme, while the others are variations on the theme. So, I would say the general pattern of adverbizing and adjective plus the original adjective is more of a theme than a meme.
yeah, it was a stretch - but a snipe on pattern recognition deficeit didn't seem like as much fun
A meme (pronounced /ˈmiːm/, rhyming with “cream”1) is a postulated unit of cultural ideas, symbols or practices, which can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals or other imitable phenomena. (The etymology of the term relates to the Greek word μιμητισμός ([mɪmetɪsmos]) for “something imitated”.)2 Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes, in that they self-replicate and respond to selective pressures.3

it's good as a starting place for non-controvesial things
for academic work and such, it is thoroughly inadequate
that's the ticket!

Let me know
if you guys want to start selling hardcover copies of The India. I work for a publishing company and could pull some strings … but only if you tweaked it so that it could be used as a class text at universities. Not to say that it’s not that just now … just not entirely.

Burish's prescense will pay dividends...
I’d be surprised if the hawks lost more than 6 games by seasons end….its playoff mentality time.
Only 16 games left
We’re 7-2-1 in our last 10 and people are freaking. 6 or more losses in our last 16 and this whole site will asplode.

Didn't they just throw you out? I figured there's be a waiting peiod or something
maybe a Statute of Limitations?
Yes,
it’s a sculpture of limitations.

"What a farce." - Dale Tallon
hey, I'd love to get one of those sculptures
it would be handy to have available to pull out whenever one needed one
I got a nifty letter yesterday

Yeah!

they saw what you said here about them and they’re going the PA way of showing they’re butthurt.
But when it was suggested to him that Toews v. Kane seems likely to become a sidebar to every future international hockey tournament, he smiled and said: "I'd like us to win something together, too."

A few of the reasons
some people might be freaking out is that
a) 5 of those games went into OT.
b) The two losses we gave up 4 unanswered goals to the Islanders and 5 to Scum.
c) The only game that they really looked good in was against Vancouver. (I know they beat the Oilers 5-2 but they were tied 2-2 after two periods.)
Competitive violence, that's why you're here!
one way to look at it
is that somehow, despite a dip in performance, they’re finding ways to win. Sure, 5 of those games went to overtime and we’ve lost a shootout here and there, which playoffs don’t have, but we’ve never actually lost in 5 minutes of overtime, which playoffs DO have, in the 6 times this season that a game has been decided in that time frame.

Really?
I didn’t realize we never lost in the 5 minute OT this season. Interesting. That still doesn’t negate the fact that in many of those games we shouldn’t have gone to OT in the first place. Someone yesterday pointed out the PP lack of production and how that alone is perhaps more significant than the France vs. Finland issue.
A win is a win is a win?
Regarding the PP. I just posted a comment here on the I’d Make a King thread. I’m really interested in hearing other perspectives because I’m not a PP strategy wiz, but I know some commenters on here having coaching and/or organized playing experience, or just know their shit. I figure it’s a much better topic to dive into instead of the goalie debate.
I’m not suggesting the PP couldn’t be better, but I don’t think we should necessarily expect top 3 of this team until they develop their abilities further, coupled with personnel changes in the future.

The PP, in my experience, starts from the net out. Niemi and Huet are at fault here, too.

Atrociously atrocious are those European goal-less goalies
OK, sorry I started all that. It’s stupidly stupid. No one can sound as ridiculously ridiculous as Edzo.
We've never lost in a 5 minute 4 on 4 overtime.
Which the playoffs DON’T have. With the skating ability of the Hawks defense, there really isn’t another team that can compete with them 4 on 4. But, like the shootout, this is moot in the playoffs.
Tremendously tremendous
now you're just being difficult

I think the point is fair
The Hawks are ferocious on 4 on 4 (except for the stupid Wings game.)
This won’t help in the playoffs unless they take a bunch of offsetting penalties, a la the ’80s Oilers.
Think about it Q.
Too bad they put in the "Edmonton Rule" and fights no longer lead to 5 minutes of 4 on 4.
Tremendously tremendous
sometimes i wonder
if they actually have that as part of their game plan. They’ve had a few of those so far this year, haven’t they?

I figured Burish rehabbed keeping his face in warm, moist areas too. But I guess that is for a different time.

I half expected
to see the rehab include some kind of cock pushups
He's the one they call Dr. Karpotsev...
that is already part of his workout regimine
we haven’t had reports of him injuring that, so we assume he was sticking with the regular workout in that regard.
well, i figured
since he had a bum leg for a while, he’d be enhancing other areas to compensate, like when blind people can hear or smell better than the average person.
He's the one they call Dr. Karpotsev...
ah, yes
because burwood can do more than two ladies at once.

Waddle and Silvy interviewed Sharp this morning
and they mentioned that someone in the crowd was holding a “Hey Burish, My Grandma’s Pregnant” sign. Sharp simply stated that Burish is a single guy and that he wouldn’t be surprised if it was true, or words to that effect. It was pretty funny.
