While the NHL's reasoning behind it is convoluted at best, this is exactly what this overrated, over-hyped, gutless piece of shit deserves.

Wiz's Quotes

Are just awful…“I didn’t do anything wrong?”

Man up you pansy.

by swenny916 on Mar 18, 2010 6:14 PM CDT reply actions

Justice has been delivered

If Seabs does have a concussion, this is probably around the number of games he’ll miss. Thank you Campbell for growing a pair.

by Ban on Mar 18, 2010 6:15 PM CDT reply actions

The delay in assessing the suspension

was because Campbell had to go to his tailor first to let the crotch out in all his pants to make room for bigger balls.

by husler777 on Mar 18, 2010 6:46 PM CDT up reply actions

Is it really growing a pair

when you suspend Wiz? It’s not like he gave Ovechkin or someone more important a big suspension.

by Katherine215 on Mar 18, 2010 7:32 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah you're right

I guess a part of me just hopes this is a move in the right direction.

by Ban on Mar 18, 2010 7:36 PM CDT up reply actions

I was sort of expecting something big

so he could quiet the critics. “See, look, I’m disciplining these head shots. I just gave Wiz 8 games!” And who besides Bob Murray is going to care Wiz is out 8 games? It’s a good PR opportunity to me.

by Katherine215 on Mar 18, 2010 7:39 PM CDT up reply actions

$268,292.72

Yes… I included the cents. Every last one.

by DisCUBbobulated on Mar 18, 2010 6:16 PM CDT reply actions

$268,292.72…

I know this is probably pocket change to him and whatnot, but it still does make me feel better. I like it more than being out 8 games.

by doubleohpsycho on Mar 18, 2010 6:30 PM CDT up reply actions

Pocket change? Hardly.

Try nearly 10% of his salary this year.

Also, he made $900k last year.

Ok, then it makes me more happy.

Poor Wiz

That leaves him a little under 2.5 million to get by on.

Competitive violence, that's why you're here!

by cdz3210 on Mar 18, 2010 7:08 PM CDT up reply actions

how do they survive?

"The roar from the crowd really fired me up," Burish said. "In warmups there were a lot of signs. One said 'Burish, my grandma is pregnant.' I don't know what that means. I skated by it and said, 'it's not mine.' "

by jesus christos on Mar 18, 2010 7:51 PM CDT up reply actions

If this is pocket change

and you could make the argument that it is… what I always thought was, regardless of what you think, if you cause an injury you ought to pay the part of the medical bill not covered by insurance (how do hockey players get insured, anyway?). I mean, if you can’t admit guilt, at least give a good gesture so you can sound less douchebaggy.

by VerStig on Mar 18, 2010 7:22 PM CDT up reply actions

Ovechkin hit nowhere near the level of the Wiz hit

for starter, Wiz had intent to injure, Ovechkin did not

by 815Sox on Mar 18, 2010 7:39 PM CDT up reply actions

Isn't that around the same amount

as Ovechkin got for 2 games?

Competitive violence, that's why you're here!

by cdz3210 on Mar 18, 2010 6:59 PM CDT up reply actions

That's the thing about looking at these fines

The fine amounts look astronomical until you see what they’re still getting paid.

by cdz3210 on Mar 18, 2010 7:11 PM CDT up reply actions

Colin Campbell's presense

in Boston seems to have deterred the Bruins in retaliation for the Savard hit. 1:58 in S.Thornton pounds Cooke and gets a 10 minute misconduct for his efforts.

tremendously tremendous

I still wish Eager would've fed Wiz his own dick.

And still I’m holding out hope that Burish will fuck his girlfriend.

Wiz quote -

"I am truly sorry that my friend Brent Seabrook was hurt on the play."

He had all the time it took to skate from center ice to the boards to think about what he was about to do to his ‘friend’. Gutless.

by ldengis on Mar 18, 2010 6:43 PM CDT reply actions

Hopefully

Those fucking refs are suspended a similar length of time. They’re lucky there wasn’t a brawl.

by husler777 on Mar 18, 2010 6:47 PM CDT up reply actions

not a bad idea

if those zebras aren’t going to follow the rulebooks and let games devolve into royal rumbles, then they should be punished somehow.

by Cristobal the Cat on Mar 18, 2010 6:56 PM CDT up reply actions

Actually...

According to Chris Kuc and Adam Jahns, it’s the EXACT SAME officiating crew for tonight’s game.

I hope Quenneville gets tossed like a baseball manager and gets his money’s worth on the way out.

it’s not like they were using them anyway.

by ahnfire on Mar 18, 2010 8:06 PM CDT up reply actions

Holy shit Brian Murray

Ducks GM Murray on Quenneville: “I strongly suggest Joel worries about his goaltending and stops trying to run the National Hockey League.”

by Slaky on Mar 18, 2010 6:51 PM CDT reply actions

Bob Murray was a total space cadet when he was the GM in Chicago and nothing has changed in Anaheim. He took over a 2007 Stanley Cup Champion team from Brian Burke and has sabatoged it to becoming one of the worst in the Western Conference.

He’s also gone on record to suggest that the Olympics were “terrible for hockey” and that the NHL “should never go again”.

Yeah, the Olympics were terrible for the game of hockey only 30 million people in the U.S. watched the Gold Medal Game. That’s all.

"The Golden Goal! And Canada has - once in a lifetime - Olympic Gold!"

Congratulations to The Golden Boys- Toews, Seabrook, and Keith- for delivering the GOLD to CANADA.

by hawks61 on Mar 18, 2010 6:58 PM CDT up reply actions

Didnt Murray get accused of pushing

A woman after they were eliminated from the playoffs last year? He won’t have to worry about that this year as their season will be over in 3 weeks. Murray has run that franchise into the ground and they will be looking up at the Kings for years to come.

by Duck99 on Mar 18, 2010 7:10 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

not pushing

he threw a chair and it hit her. (Source)

But when it was suggested to him that Toews v. Kane seems likely to become a sidebar to every future international hockey tournament, he smiled and said: "I'd like us to win something together, too."

Bob Murray is a douche

He should worry about fielding more than ONE FUCKING LINE of forwards and less about what Joel Quenneville says.
On a personal note, I grew up with his son and let me tell you, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

by Cristobal the Cat on Mar 18, 2010 6:58 PM CDT up reply actions

I played against his son

in Soccer in High School every year. I enjoyed telling him his father was a fuckwod. Especially when they got ride of Roenick.

Makes me feel good about those experiences knowing what i do now. Oh and as you said Cristobal, Kevin’s no peach either

Sooooooo where is this news coming from

Toews out tonight with an upper body injury?

never mind, looks like it's not true

Adam Jahns of SunTimes just saw Toews and said it looked like he was getting ready to play.

That was right on cue… I was looking to see where you might have heard that.

I don’t know that I’m ready for a Toews injury.

by Skags on Mar 18, 2010 8:10 PM CDT up reply actions

hmmmm, not so sure

Remember last night I said he looked like he injured his arm or shoulder and was totally useless for a shift ( he appeared to let two puck go past him without trying to reach for them). He was back on the ice the next shift though. Sounds like there might have been something to that. Let hope then it’s just something minor.

Seems like the Score started this

and it’s interesting because they don’t have any beat reporters out there. Seems to me more like the update guy confusing Toews with Seabrook.

Star Players?

I love how the NHL gives Ovechkin a 2 game suspension for Campbell’s hit, and Wizniewski gets 8 games for his hit on Seabrook. Just goes to show who’s favored in the league. Atta boy NHL Brass

by hawks_2010 on Mar 18, 2010 8:44 PM CDT reply actions

seemed like the wiz hit

seemed more ‘intent to injure’ and was right after the NHL publicized that they would be likely coming down harder on head hunting

Doesn’t seem very moral to me. Might as well take Satan’s autograph while you’re at it. - N.C.

by Illini0509 on Mar 18, 2010 8:45 PM CDT up reply actions

The Wisniewski hit was much, much worse than Ovechkin's.

The hit on Campbell was unnecessary and reckless. The hit on Seabrook was pre-meditated, dangerous, with intent to destroy.
