I just hope tonight's game doesn't piss me off
That doesn’t sound like much to ask for, but Christ the last few games have been rough. I think I might just turn it off during the third period, just in case.
No, not really. But I probably ought to.
Maybe during one of the Hawks eventual 5-3 Shorthanded times
the can “clear” the puck off the “face” of one of the zebras accidentilly once or twice.
No, that would be “wrong” to inentionaly do it, but if the just happened to be in the way………………

To paraphrase the duck's GM
I didn’t know Chicago was full of whiners
About the goalies maybe. But that hit?! Seriously?
I have a feeling Ducks/Hawks games are going to be vicious for the next couple of years…
How many rivals do we need?
And seriously, since when did we become such a hateable team? Call it homerism, but I don’t really see that much for other people to hate.
I will put on the homer hat and say that they're just jealous of how awesome we are
and maybe how pretty. Next on the chopping block is Toews’s nose
That's what I was going to say
People always hate what they can’t get. Say what you want about them, but I’m pretty sure just about any team out there would want Kane, Toews, or even Campbell on their team.
by doubleohpsycho on Mar 18, 2010 9:14 PM CDT up reply actions
yep, a friend of mine was showing me pictures of the flyers
and was all “Lapierre probably at one time looked pretty okay, but 15-odd years of playing face-first hockey has lead his nose to drift considerably to the side.”
I think the Hawks biggest Rivals right now are those who wear black & white
If it works don't go and F*** it up!

back in the days of the norris
every team in the division was a rival, every meeting home and away had the potential to turn into a bloodbath.
I think I was just expecting it to be worse? or something?
and so comparatively it wasn’t that bad?
or I’m more of a lightweight than I knew
yeah, we need to work on your tolerance
whatever it takes to get you off the “hey, Sopes ain’t that bad!” train of thought.
I was appalled by the train of thought! let's make that clear
and I don’t know, I’m doing karaoke for my friends birthday tomorrow. I think cheap drunk is about where I want to be
That's an even worse mental picture
Just his scary chest

All of a sudden...
…how huge are these two games with Phoenix in the next five days?
Not really?
Divisions are a bitch if you’re the ’Yotes.
They're slowly reeling in San Jose.
Now its just not about catching the Sharks for the top spot, but about holding back the Coyotes as well.
it's kind of like our situation last season?
points-wise, we were third in the conference, but we had to wait until the last game of the season or something ridiculous like that to know the outcome of the Calgary-Vancouver chickenfight for the Northwest division.
Same zebras as last night.
Good thing I bought more booze this afternoon.

Ditto (5:30am CST)
I’m on vacation next week so at least I can make up the lack of sleep recently
"FACEOFF!" "Makes the pass." "FIGHT!" - 8 bit hockey
the sad thing is I choose to get up at 6 am
but if I’m at work at 6:45 I can leave at 3:15. Getting there at 10 to leave at 6:30 is only going to be used in emergencies, like the playoffs.
I start at 7 and end at 3:30
Though if I leave before 5, that’s an early day for me. Whatever – after working retail for eons, I’m grateful for the weekends off now.
"FACEOFF!" "Makes the pass." "FIGHT!" - 8 bit hockey
The key word is "supposed" to...
So it’s not mandatory?
"My Father's name is Jack, and my mother's name is Daniels..."
then I'll have to go to the liquor store...
"My Father's name is Jack, and my mother's name is Daniels..."
Hey sweet
I went to the Blommer factory store downtown over the weekend, and just realized I have a chocolate bar remaining. Things are turning around, I can feel it!
The Blommer Chocolate factory...
I used to work downtown years ago… and if the wind was blowing the right way, everyone in the Loop had the munchies!
"My Father's name is Jack, and my mother's name is Daniels..."
You can still smell the factory...
I got home from a late-night Megabus (near Union Station) the other night and it was quite strong. I’ve never been to the factory store, gotta check that out. Ferrara Pan has one too.

by Katherine215 on Mar 18, 2010 9:37 PM CDT up reply actions
I'll be interesting to see what kind of market there is for Buff/Versteeg this summer.
The versatility can only help.
if you could only keep one
which do you keep.
Straight up head to head comparison.
then with the prospects in rockford.
I think I go Buff straight up
but keep steeger since we have some guys coming up
Second City Hockey
I'd keep Buff
just because he has the skill set of a T-Rex, which is pretty rare. We’ve got other Versteegs in the system. We don’t have Buff 2.0.
Honestly, I don't think it's an either/or proposition.
I think both are gone. It’s dump them both or sacrifice Sharp in my eyes.
Straight up, I keep Buff over Versteeg. There is no need to a third-line winger who thinks he’s a first-line winger. Love his skill-set, it’s just not utilized well here.
Really?
I love Getzlaf’s game. Can’t stand Perry for some reason, though I know he’s talented. And that was before last night.
Getzlaf can be pretty undisplined sometimes.
although maybe that’s a product of playing in the Ducks’ system.
Fraser
though hell, he could be hurt too.

That period mostly sucked
But it didn’t make me angry. So far, so good.
No way
Would I ever eat a shrimp taco from Taco Bell.

They're actually pretty good

Taco Bell
Actually, this brings up an interesting question.
When I was a kid, I loved Taco Bell. Over the years, though (I’m now 31), I’ve gotten to like it less and less. The thing is, though, is that it tastes different to me. I can still remember what a taco from there used to taste like, and it’s a fond memory. But it’s different than what a taco tastes like now (i.e., basically inedible).
So my question is, am I just remembering things as better than they really were? Or has Taco Bell actually gotten objectively worse in the last twenty years?
To me they taste the same as ever
but I like Del Taco better anyway. TB is ok once in a while.

My buddy used to work at TB years ago
you are correct in a way. Back then, they mixed fresh beef with the spices and stuff, now it comes already seasoned, all they do is heat it.

Well, at least I know my mouth hasn't gone insane.
I was sure something changed, and nobody would listen to me.

I'm pretty sure it's not even real meat
Someone told me it’s “puffed beef” meaning they rehydrate it. At the very least, I’m sure it’s a beef/TVP blend.

Power play: still clown shoes.
Not horrible
It’s already much more cheerful than the Pens-Bruins game I watched earlier. Ugh, that actually depressed me more than last night’s Hawks.

Was there any form of retaliation from the B's?

Not quite
Thornton pounded Cooke about 2 minutes in, and Chara had his first fight of the year, I think, against Rupp later.
The depressing part is it was the first shutout (3-0) Penguins got in Boston since 1968. And they were in front of the 1970 Cup-winning team there tonight for a commemoration. And it was Fleury’s first shutout of the season. And the B’s had only 10 SOG the first 2 periods, 17 for the game. I could go on…

yeah
they gave the Pens their first shutout of the year. Really sent the message, they did.
But when it was suggested to him that Toews v. Kane seems likely to become a sidebar to every future international hockey tournament, he smiled and said: "I'd like us to win something together, too."

I won’t go near any Pens fans online for a while, except for the ones I follow on Twitter. Ugh. I’m glad the Bruins didn’t really goon it up but they might as well have by the end.
