I just hope tonight's game doesn't piss me off

That doesn’t sound like much to ask for, but Christ the last few games have been rough. I think I might just turn it off during the third period, just in case.

No, not really. But I probably ought to.

by Brian C on Mar 18, 2010 9:01 PM CDT reply actions

Maybe during one of the Hawks eventual 5-3 Shorthanded times

the can “clear” the puck off the “face” of one of the zebras accidentilly once or twice.

No, that would be “wrong” to inentionaly do it, but if the just happened to be in the way………………

If it works don't go and F*** it up!

Enjoy the game ladies and gents. Should be a good one.

So

Either they’re giving them a second chance, or they couldn’t fly anybody else in in time…

by VerStig on Mar 18, 2010 9:12 PM CDT up reply actions

To paraphrase the duck's GM

I didn’t know Chicago was full of whiners

About the goalies maybe. But that hit?! Seriously?

I have a feeling Ducks/Hawks games are going to be vicious for the next couple of years…

by doubleohpsycho on Mar 18, 2010 9:07 PM CDT reply actions

How many rivals do we need?

And seriously, since when did we become such a hateable team? Call it homerism, but I don’t really see that much for other people to hate.

by VerStig on Mar 18, 2010 9:10 PM CDT up reply actions

That's what I was going to say

People always hate what they can’t get. Say what you want about them, but I’m pretty sure just about any team out there would want Kane, Toews, or even Campbell on their team.

by doubleohpsycho on Mar 18, 2010 9:14 PM CDT up reply actions

is that lapierre?

I always think he’s photoshopped.

by gmh on Mar 18, 2010 9:21 PM CDT up reply actions

yep, a friend of mine was showing me pictures of the flyers

and was all “Lapierre probably at one time looked pretty okay, but 15-odd years of playing face-first hockey has lead his nose to drift considerably to the side.”

Second City Hockey

by Battery on Mar 18, 2010 9:36 PM CDT up reply actions

I'd keep Buff

just because he has the skill set of a T-Rex, which is pretty rare. We’ve got other Versteegs in the system. We don’t have Buff 2.0.

by gmh on Mar 18, 2010 9:37 PM CDT up reply actions

Honestly, I don't think it's an either/or proposition.

I think both are gone. It’s dump them both or sacrifice Sharp in my eyes.

Straight up, I keep Buff over Versteeg. There is no need to a third-line winger who thinks he’s a first-line winger. Love his skill-set, it’s just not utilized well here.

Taco Bell

Actually, this brings up an interesting question.

When I was a kid, I loved Taco Bell. Over the years, though (I’m now 31), I’ve gotten to like it less and less. The thing is, though, is that it tastes different to me. I can still remember what a taco from there used to taste like, and it’s a fond memory. But it’s different than what a taco tastes like now (i.e., basically inedible).

So my question is, am I just remembering things as better than they really were? Or has Taco Bell actually gotten objectively worse in the last twenty years?

by Brian C on Mar 18, 2010 10:20 PM CDT up reply actions

To me they taste the same as ever

but I like Del Taco better anyway. TB is ok once in a while.

Not quite

Thornton pounded Cooke about 2 minutes in, and Chara had his first fight of the year, I think, against Rupp later.

The depressing part is it was the first shutout (3-0) Penguins got in Boston since 1968. And they were in front of the 1970 Cup-winning team there tonight for a commemoration. And it was Fleury’s first shutout of the season. And the B’s had only 10 SOG the first 2 periods, 17 for the game. I could go on…
