Stand Up And Be Counted If You Can't Live Without It

I know it's McClure's job to use the Lawrence Arms quotes, but I thought it fit so we're going with it.  Right, first, practice notes:

-You've probably seen what the lines were in practice, but here they are:

Bickell-Toews-Kane

Hossa-Sharp-Kopeck

Ladd-Bolland-Versteeg

Brouwer-Madden-Burish

Some of this makes a lot of sense, and obviously some of it doesn't.  I saw Bickell try and keep up with Kane against Detroit on the last Sunday, and it didn't look-a-so-good.  Flipping Brouwer and Bickell would make more sense, but the coaching staff hates Troy Brouwer so that won't happen.  Now remember, Buff was skating with Hendry in practice before Game 2 but that never actually made the ice, so this doesn't mean that's what we'll see tomorrow night.  The rest of it works.  The Hawks haven't gotten much from Madden, and it's not his type of series anyway because the Preds don't really come with a center that you have to shut down.  Bolland hasn't proven that he's a #2 center right now, and Sharp and Hossa made some magic when Sharp was centering for him earlier in the year.  Wherever Bickell and Burish play, we know they bring some physicality and energy, things the Hawks are desperately lacking.

Campbell was working with the power play, I have to believe he's taking the ice for Game 4, and boy would it be welcome.  If he can play 20 minutes, that will give the Hawks at least 2/3rds of the game with a d-man on the ice who can skate them out of their zone, instead of Buff, Sopel, or Hendry firing it wildly around the boards to a giggling Shea Weber.  Also, 51 Phantom's intelligence in the neutral zone will be vital.  How many times when he was firing did we see him get a look at a stacked blue line, chip it in and be the first one to get it because of his speed?  That could be a huge difference.  I don't see Buff skating with a forward line, so either he's going to be on the third pairing or he's headed to the pressbox?

-I have calmed down slightly since last night, but not much.  It's not a matter of tactics, or lineups.  It's not as if we're watching a opposing player and saying, "We gotta control him."  It's not as if there's a Zetterberg or a Sedin kicking our skulls in.  It's simply a matter of effort, because that's the game the Preds have turned this into.  I said before the series that if the Hawks matched the Preds effort level, they'll win.  I still think that's true.

-What we have to see Thursday is North-South.  Chip the puck in, skate your ass off to go get it.  There's no reason the Hawks can't do that, because outside of Shea Weber, there aren't a lot of drooling behemoths patrolling the Preds blue line.  Enough of the blind drop passes at the red line, or you'll be hit with an alligator.

-Draw inspiration from where you can, for me, it's 1992.  The Hawks were down 2-1 in St. Louis, and looked as bad in Game 3 as they did last night.  Then JR said enough and the next 11 were ours.  We've been through this before, even though a long time ago, so let's act like it.  If you need more recent positives, I keep repeating the Hawks were two minutes away from a 3-1 deficit and headed back to Vancouver.  They trailed three separate times in Game 6 and looking at a Game 7 on the road.  They'll respond.  I thought they'd win the next three to take this in 5 before last night, I have to believe it's still possible to do so in 6.

-I saw Rosenbloom hit the "Blame Hossa" button.  I know the numbers aren't there, but from the eye test Hossa is our hardest working forward right now and is the only one consistently winning battles for the puck.  He hasn't been helped by his center and captain not being up to snuff.

-Right, tomorrow night we return to our spiritual home.  The triumvirate of stupid that is this blog will be taking in Game 4 at Whirlaway (Fullerton and Kedzie).  Come join us for what hopefully we'll be our revival.

-Oh, almost forgot: ZAMBRANO IN THE FUCKING BULLPEN????!!!!!!!

I had this same thought! I feel like I can actually say I know something about hockey now if I’m thinking the same thoughts Sam is. Well, the clean ones, anyway.

Sorry, this was a bright spot in an otherwise very shitty day. Go back to your regularly scheduled programming now.

I think ahnfire put it best somewhere earlier today

It seemed they were targeting a Game 5 return, so 2 days can’t make that much of a difference to his health. Obviously, that is my first concern but it seems at this point it’s more how his conditioning is. If the collarbone and ribs are healed, any fluke hit could hurt him but not more than it would hurt anyone else.

by Katherine215 on Apr 21, 2010 7:01 PM CDT up reply actions

that's probably true and it's also probably fine

but one thing my friend has brought up before, and which I’ve started to wonder about, is how much the team knew about Bolland’s back and how long they waited until they decided to do surgery. In other words, did they mishandle his situation somehow? And if they did, is whatever decision-making behind that going to do the same for Soupy?

Just feeling cynical right now, I guess.

But when it was suggested to him that Toews v. Kane seems likely to become a sidebar to every future international hockey tournament, he smiled and said: "I'd like us to win something together, too."

I understand the cynicism

and wondered about Bolland too. I can only hope that they do the right thing for their players. from a cynical perspective, they are an investment…I feel icky saying that.

by Katherine215 on Apr 21, 2010 8:05 PM CDT up reply actions

Of course they mishandled Bolland

I beat it to death at the time: every day with a ruptured disc is another day the sufferer alters their mechanics. It might not matter for you or me, but for a top athlete, who was playing in games and expected to perform, he must have really fucked up the muscle memory he’d spent most of his life working to develop.

That’s not the same thing as a broken collar bone and rib.

"That’s not the same thing as a broken collar bone and rib."

agreed with that which is why I said it’s probably fine. To be fair they’ve kept Johnsson dead or whatever and are obviously not pushing for him to be back on the ice anytime soon, so the comment is just a case of “If they fucked that up what else could they fuck up”.

But when it was suggested to him that Toews v. Kane seems likely to become a sidebar to every future international hockey tournament, he smiled and said: "I'd like us to win something together, too."

With backs...

…you usually exhaust all the conservative treatment you can before you go to surgery. This is probably why they hoped therapy and treatment would take care of it.

that's true

but you usually know in two weeks if cortisone has been effective, and i don’t know how much physical therapy would have been tried on a top athlete. beyond that, there’s not much alternative treatment you can do. they had to have known during preseason that surgery was the only way to go. my guess is they were seeing if he could be effective without surgery.

Shoulder's and Spine...

…are the two areas of the body you hold off on invasive procedures until there is no other option.

There are complex structures and there is more downside down the road from surgery.

"I don't like them fellas that drive in two runs but let in three" Casey Stengel

by MPH73 on Apr 22, 2010 11:52 AM CDT up reply actions

It was pretty clear that he was not effective on the ice from the first game this season. As I said, it only takes a couple weeks to know if cortisone is effective, and that was probably done during preseason. There isn’t much else they can do to a herniated/ruptured disc besides give it time. As a sports team, they weren’t about to give it the time necessary to heal on its own. Bolland had never had back surgery before, so they weren’t going to just let him miss the season and hope that would do it. This is professional sports; teams don’t think long-term, only to the end of the contract. By delaying, and playing him during that delay, they were just making it more likely that he wouldn’t be effective when he returned.

With Buerhle starting against tampa yesterday, they kept replaying the perfect game final out and Hawk’s call…………which was straight up Special Ed.

Ditto for CNS

by Hack on Apr 22, 2010 9:09 AM CDT up reply actions

You didn't like that call?

It’s probably the only one from Hawk I do like. I don’t mind the homerism in the perfect game, he’s entitled there. I was ridiculously excited, I can’t imagine how he felt there.

by Katherine215 on Apr 22, 2010 9:23 AM CDT up reply actions

No, I hate that call

I have alot of respect for Buerhle and his perfect game, let me get that out of the way.

If you’re sitting in the stands watching that game, you might yell “YES!” like 6 times and then follow that up with “HISTORY!” That would be an acceptable fan reaction, but that’s not “a call”.

I understand that hawk was excited, but tell us what happened, say the player’s name. Somewhere within the first 15 second of a spectacular sports occurrence, I’d expect to hear the player’s name and the accomplishment. He was yelling yes like he was in his living room; this is what some Sox fans love about hawk, and this is what everyone else hates about him.

I don’t want to turn this into a buerhle vs. Z debate or a Hawk vs. Kasper debate, but look at Kasper’s call for Z’s no hitter. It’s perfect. Sure Len is excited, but he actually says “Zambrano, a no-hitter!” Everytime I hear that call, I get chills because you hear the player, the accomplishment, and the excitement of the moment. With Hawk’s call, all I think about is how excited he is and not the accomplishment.

Long winded, but you see what I mean?

Ditto for CNS

by Hack on Apr 22, 2010 9:36 AM CDT up reply actions

At least he was excited

Yeah, it was kind of a silly call for a moment like that, but I don’t think you can do worse justice to a historic moment than Joe Buck does:

It will be their fifth pennant since the year 1918, there it is, ground ball to second, Reese…the Boston Red Sox have won the pennant.

I know you guys don’t like the Red Sox, but I mean, seriously? A team comes back from 3-0 in the ALCS and this is the call you make? I have no idea how they keep bringing this guy back. Or having him call football games.

and normally I would agree as that really is what I dislike about Hawk, and to a certain extent Len. For that moment, I don’t know why, but I’m not bothered.

the Huet signing made more sense. keith, toews, and kane were all promising young talents, not the borderline superstars they became over the course of that season. the Hawks were desperately trying to create excitement in a jaded fanbase heading into a make-or-break marketing year. when viewed from that perspective, the campbell and huet signings make a hell of a lot more sense.

Could be alot worse

I actually like Bickell on that top line. Every time he’s had a chance to play, there has been results. This will give a physical distraction near the net so TK can do their magic.

I also like Madden on the 4th line. I think he’s a very physical leader, and placing him in his traditional checking center role will add some grit and presence when our scorers are taking a breather.

Only time will tell.

meh...

not totally sold on Bickell, but at this point, anything that gets results is fucking rad in my book. Again though, it’s not just a lines thing.

I think Sam summed it up best:

It’s not a matter of tactics, or lineups. It’s not as if we’re watching a opposing player and saying, “We gotta control him.” It’s not as if there’s a Zetterberg or a Sedin kicking our skulls in. It’s simply a matter of effort, because that’s the game the Preds have turned this into. I said before the series that if the Hawks matched the Preds effort level, they’ll win. I still think that’s true.

Does anyone remember the 1990 playoffs when the Hawks took a 2-1 lead on the Oilers and they had game four at the Stadium? A guy named Mark Messier took control of game 4 from the ouset and refused to let his team lose. This is what the Hawks need collectively tomorrow.

…I would agree, which is why this needs to be a collective venture led by certain key players.

Many times, there is a fine line between playing tight because you were expected to win, and simply saying “enough of this shit” and taking control.

I hope the Hawks can do the latter, but my fear (and gut) is telling me the former may dominate this series.

You know

Here’s the thing. If Q goes out and says the reason we lost Game 3 so badly was because we didn’t compete and match their effort, then why in the fuck to do you tinker with the lines?

By tinkering with the lines he simply undermines the message. He ought to keep the fucking lines the same. How about we build some cohesion and not try to send fucking messages to certain players.

If you say we didn’t compete and match their effort and leave the lines exactly the same, then everyone gets the same message. Fuck the lines all up and “punish” Eager by sitting him, or moving Brouwer to the 4th line etc. then all in the sudden the we need to compete and match their effort message gets watered down with the guys who think, well, I’m still on the 1st line so I’m kicking ass. It’s the rest of these losers who need to work harder. WTF Q.

by Skags on Apr 22, 2010 8:40 AM CDT up reply actions

My biggest worry

Is that when the coach looks like he’s panicking, the players follow suit. But I can see (maybe) where he’s going with this — if he doesn’t like your effort, you, or somebody else gets benched (kind of the logic behind pulling the goalie sometimes) and you have to take some responsibility for it.

I don’t like it, and I don’t agree with it, but our guys are grown men. They’ll deal with it.

by VerStig on Apr 22, 2010 8:43 AM CDT up reply actions

I think the Hawks are in trouble

But have full faith this team can turn it around and beat the crap out of these pesky Predators.

Game 3 was bad from Top Line to Line 4, 1st pair to 3rd, Niemi was not bad, but certainly not good. That being said, the Hawks now have to fight against a team that they have now let believe in their own Manifest Destiny. Not only in Game 4, but Game 5 as well, the Hawks need to rip the Heart and Soul out of the Chest of this team, eat it for lunch and offer them the leftovers. The need to completely dominate these next two games. Beat the “trap” while making their own trap work (Yes, fellas the Hawks do run the trap quiet a bit, and usually fairly well), stimy the lack luster Preds Forwards back to what it is that being crap compared to the Hawks. Finally the Unholy Line needs to be back and do unto this fucker of a thorn in the side named Rinne what Kaner did unto LU last year.

I will not jump on this new bandwagon of beating up on Toews and Hossa. Game three blew for them as well as everyone else. But they have had some of the best chances against FUCK RINNE than any other Hawk, and have been completely robbed on a number of chances. If Two to Three of those chances hit net, would people be riding their asses like they are today? These two are too good, and have shown what they can do in these type of games, and a plus they are not named Joe or Thorton. But I will agree they both need to get points for the Hawks to have any chance. If these two continue to be kept off the score sheet, the Hawks are done plain and simple.

Getting Soupy back will ONLY help, with his skills and putting Buff as a mountain in from of Rinne may not be a bad idea. Niemi has done exactly what has been needed of him, the Hawks D has done what is needed, but the Hawks have completely failed to adjust to this Preds D game, and in game 3 played the Preds game, not the Hawks game. This here is the key, not playing the Lines Slot Machine, play Hawks Hockey puck on net, get traffic, get the rebound.

If the Hawks do not walk away from Game 4 with a 3+ goal win, huge shot differential (mainly limit the Preds shots) AND Toews or Hossa have 3+ points. This series is over. The Hawks not only need to win now, but rip the Heart and Soul out of this Predators team now.

concur'd mostly...

I think it’s essential that the Hawks win game 4. I think it would be pretty awesome, and a much appreciated extra boost if they win big in game 4. Just wouldn’t call them toast in the series if they walked away with that dreaded < 3 goal win.

This popped up at me too:

in game 3 (we) played the Preds game, not the Hawks game.

That’s what I was thinking, but I was thinking it for the first two games as well. And after the second game, I didn’t think that would matter. The second game had shown me (or so I thought) that the Hawks could play the Pred’s game much better than the Preds themselves. Fuck, I still think they can, but they certainly DID NOT on tuesday, and after that abortion I’m sick of watching that nonsense, and just holding out hope that they can open it up a bit tomorrow and get in rinne’s shit.

You're right in a win is a win

But I think the Hawks really need to do much more than win though. They need to kill this Fucked Idea the Preds have that They are a better team than the Hawks. The quickest way to do this is complete domination, and just one game will not be enough. God forbid that the Preds may have already done just that to the Hawks, but actually really doubt it.

The bullpen is indeed shitty

but many are young and being put in positions they probably aren’t prepared to be in. Zambrano just doesn’t get it; I don’t think you can only hold Larry solely responsible for Z.

What about Gorzelanny’s improvement? And converting Demp back to a starter who won 18 games? And he should get some credit for Wells and Marmol, converted catchers doing a pretty good job. Silva never really had a great season and I’m happy he’s off to a good start.

Them Angels Been Talkin'

From the 7" EP Buttsweat and Tears (listen)

What’s that sound?
In the parking lot someone’s getting sick
But the beards just gather ‘round to snap another picture of his dick
Around the corner there’s a party with a million pretty girls
Black and blue, tattooed and bruised, weary with the world

This high life is running at full steam
Come on everyone and live the high life with me
I’m not gonna stop until the devil falls asleep
Tonight is the march of the meek

I feel the Sparks on my teeth and in my veins
Summers spent in basements, smoking in the rain
Number fifteen and Anthony, when will I see you again?
When is the next time we can raise our voices with our friends
If I promise just to love you, promise me you’ll always change
It’s more than a blackout, or remembering names

The ships and parades fade into dull greys
and everything ends way too soon
And up there the angels have been talking
and you’d best believe what you always knew
’Cause their words are all true
And no one is waiting for you.

This high life is running at full steam
Come on everyone and live the high life with me
I’m not gonna stop until the devil falls asleep
Or Jesus gives me back my keys
Tonight is the march of the meek

Stand up and be counted if you can’t live without it

Campbell playing scares me...

I hate to even say this out loud, but you know the Preds will be gunning for Campbell. I hope he is indeed healed enough to take a lot of hits. I’m afraid he’ll get knocked out and then we’ll be scrambling our D-men as badly as Q scrambled our lines last night.

I DO expect Campbell to make a big difference in the Hawks’ play—beyond the better puck movement he should also provide a boost to the rest of the team’s psyche. But for all the Soup haters out there, I hope you’ve figured out how valuable he is and how good he is.

Play well our little red friend.

According to Wikipedia (which may or may not be true)

“Sam Rosen (born April 4, 1948 in Ulm, Germany) is an American sportscaster, best known as the primary play-by-play announcer for the New York Rangers (NHL) games on MSG. Starting in 1986–87, when Esposito left to become Rangers General Manager, Rosen was paired with former Rangers goaltender John Davidson (nicknamed J.D.). The team would last 20 years together until Davidson left for a management position with the St. Louis Blues. Together, Sam and J.D. would be the longest-serving NHL broadcast team. "

It comes down to Hossa, period

A grand over-simplification I admit, but Marian Hossa must be the guy who is the monster on the ice and leads this team past Nashville. Personally, I think the Hawks are done. I have had a knot in my stomach over this team since February, 112 points or no 112 points. I’d be sitting at the United Center scratching my head or doing the same watching the TV. This team just hasn’t been right for a long time. It coincides with the return of Dave Bolland, but that isn’t the primary cause I don’t think. Bolland has sucked shit ever since his return, but he wasn’t the reason alone why this team looked imminently beatable for two months.

I won’t give up hope for getting past Nashville. But all I know is that Bowman has a shitload of hard work ahead of him this offseason. Something needs to be added / subtracted from the DNA of this team. Don’t know what, but something.

Hossa is a great player no doubt

But all the comments I can remember from you is about Hossa, Hossa, Hossa. Their are 19 other players dressed who collectively need to remove the firmly placed heads in their asses. Hossa can be a catalyst yes as can Tazer or Sharpie Fuck even Versteeg if he stops ignoring the “Dump puck here sign with two bad guys in front of you” sign.

This team can not rely on one player to carry them for a series. But really, the Hawks issues after game three is not one player not producing, but 20 players who seemingly have forgotten they have to go take this shit, it is not going to be handed to them.

I do not get people shitting on Hossa

He has been one of the hardest working Hawks this series. When he is on the ice, he is where he needs to be, has gotten great looks, but just like all others besides Kane and Brouwer, have jack and shit to show for it.

Taking cues from Hossa (Toews and Sharpie as well), but fuck Hossa and Toews have done allot right, critics be damned. Between the two how many one on with the goalies or gaping nets have the had and been robbed on or drew iron?

Not dumping on Hossa at all

You are right in stating that he his energy has been very strong. But bottom line he is being completely fucking neutralized by a bunch of energy players in Nashville, which is dumbfounding. He MUST break through. Otherwise this team is done. Toews, Kane and Sharp are critically important as well, but they are secondary concern to HOSSA at this point. Hossa must be the man, period.

Also, this team really, really, really missed Campbell. Count me as an unabashed supporter of Campbell. His loss has been huge in this series. He’d give Nashville fits with his puck movement and free up Toews, Kane and Hossa to do things.

if someone does put up a picture that's annoying,

you can double click the title and it will hide the photo. Hence the command to title your photos

clicking the title

hides all the text of the comment.

back to the hawks

looking at the lineups from today’s practice, I’m actually glad burish is going in. When he has something to prove, he tends to be a great energy guy. Also, since he’s in a playoff game, he would be counded as a hawk if we’re still standing in late May.

this may be ahead of myself, but seriously, how much would that suck to be a part of a team but not tachnically win?

my real issue with the PP

other than trying to zip through 7 guys to get the puck in the zone, has been the point men. Seriously. Why the fuck is bolland on the point? Did he develop a huge shot while recovering from back surgery?

by blackhawkeyes on Apr 21, 2010 11:04 PM CDT up reply actions

who should it be then?

Sopel? Hendry? Kop? We’re rather limited here.

Yeah

The choices are limited. I can’t wait for Soupy to come back

by Stephanie19 on Apr 21, 2010 11:07 PM CDT up reply actions

I guess I'd rather see Marlboro 72 on the 1st unit

maybe buff can stay too. But I honestly think it might be more beneficial even to put Hossa on the point so someone can park their ass right in front of Rinne. It worked so well least year. We get Kane on the half boards, brouwer/ladd in front of the net, toews down low, and Hossa/seabs up at the point.

Not perfect, but it’s worth a shot to me

by blackhawkeyes on Apr 21, 2010 11:12 PM CDT up reply actions

he's been on the point at times, I think

and hasn’t he been basically QBing whichever unit he’s on?

I like 72 on the 2nd unit and 51 on the first when they use the umbrella formation or whatever the hell it’s called

by Katherine215 on Apr 21, 2010 11:15 PM CDT up reply actions

Hossa was on the point early on when he returned this season

and I could be wrong, but I don’t think I’ve seen it recently. I agree that I like soupy on 1st, but that hasn’t been an option, so I think we need to promote a d-man to the 1st unit.

by blackhawkeyes on Apr 21, 2010 11:18 PM CDT up reply actions

Seems 51 will be back very soon

so we’ll see what happens. I think Hossa will still QB the 2nd unit when 51 is back though. He doesn’t necessarily have to be on the point to do that, does he?

by Katherine215 on Apr 21, 2010 11:22 PM CDT up reply actions

wasnt last night

TAKE OFF THOSE CLOWN SHOES OR I WILL SHOOT THIS DOG!

by BigCSouthside on Apr 21, 2010 11:23 PM CDT up reply actions

agreed. i liked him on the half boards Qb-ing from there.

then again, I think Hossa is an asset wherever he plays. I guess it just boils down to where he is the most useful over the next potential player, which is hard to judge. It just seems like a lot of puck have been getting by the point, and a player like Hossa there would tighten it up and keep the puck in the zone.

by blackhawkeyes on Apr 21, 2010 11:26 PM CDT up reply actions

Dave Bolland...

…has been pretty meh, but he’s potted two PP goals in thwe last few games playing point.

Plus, he’s a better d-man, TODAY, than Buff.

it's the thing I love and hate about sports

When you’re so invested in something and it goes badly, it stings for a long time. But when you win after such an arduous journey, it’s just so delicious.

I’m a huge gymnastics fan (If you aren’t a nerd about it like me, feel free to z on to the nect comment…) and the sweetest success was Paul Hamm back in the 2004 Olmypics. I was so sure of good things until he landed on the judged while vaouling. Then he came back and won the GOLD! That was some of the most nerve-racking hours of my sports watching, but so glorious at the end. The fact that hockey playoffs are so drawn out just makes the stress magnfied by 100 times

by blackhawkeyes on Apr 22, 2010 12:17 AM CDT up reply actions

Never

really got into gymnastics but I can totally level with you. These playoffs stress me out more than anything right now! I haven’t been doing anything this week but go to school, work, and watch hockey. Last nights loss stung badly but I believe in good things happening like what happened in the olympic story you told.

by Stephanie19 on Apr 22, 2010 12:21 AM CDT up reply actions

yeah,

I’m in school too, and I’m on your schedule 100%. Right now I have a word doc open to a lab report due tomorrow morning while I’m commenting here, and before I was watching the game. I’m just hoping we can make it go on past finals, so I can lessen the stress just a bit

by blackhawkeyes on Apr 22, 2010 12:25 AM CDT up reply actions

Good

luck on your report! I don’t have finals till June since my school runs on quarters so the stress will be coming from school till then and hopefully from us being in the playoffs!

Phelps would’ve lost for sure, even if the other guy didn’t press hard enough on whatever records their times.

I’m not trying to debate with you, I just am not clear on what you’re saying. All his races are exciting, i just like the other one better.

So are you

rooting for the Coyotes? Technically by seeding they are the favorites… I am rooting for the Kings because I like their young players and they honestly remind me a lot like last years Hawks, A really good team without much of an expectation this year. Im also rooting for the Coyotes because its a great story and great for the NHL as a whole. Besides NOBODY wants to see Pens and Scum 3.0!!! and Im rooting for Colorado because I think it would be hilarious if the sharks go out in the first round! AGAIN!!!

So do I leave the pic up?

Maybe they were as surprised by how well they dominated Game 3 as we were — and that’s what makes it uncertain as to whether they could repeat that “compete level” dominance over us.

if he does come back

f’d if i know what the lines would be

maybe something along these lines:

hossa – toews – Buff
Kane – Sharp – Brouwer
Ladd – Bolland – Versteeg
Burrish – madden – Kopecky

by sec. 317 on Apr 22, 2010 9:46 AM CDT up reply actions

I'd flip Brouwer and Buff

At least Brouwer can catch a pass if he is going towards the net

by Jrs23 on Apr 22, 2010 9:55 AM CDT up reply actions

yeah buff

playing with the 1st line is scary…but my thinking is if youre going to plant him in front of the net have him out there with the 2 guys you trust to put the puck in the net

that being said toews has missed an open net each game so far and hossa has yet to be found putting one in

so yeah maybe lining him up with kane and sharp is better

by sec. 317 on Apr 22, 2010 10:01 AM CDT up reply actions
