- I’ve only been supporting since the lockout. Congrats to those of you who’ve been supporting since 1961 and before.
- Congrats to Hossa. You didn’t deserve those 2 previous Finals losses.
- I remember the Kane/van Riemsdyk debate a few years ago. I wanted Kane. You have no idea how relieved I am we picked Kane. Congrats for the winner, Pat.

My 12 year old is a defenseman he is sleeping in his Kane jersey right now
My 10 year old (the goalie) was crying when Niemi made that save at the end of regulation.
They saw it with me. It is something I will never forget. Watching this happen with them makes it that much better.

Man, it’s hard to control all of my emotions right now. Never did I ever think that this day would come and it has. The Gold Medal in Vancouver was awesome, but it’s nowhere near this …. this is much bigger, bigger than I ever thought.

I left when the Hawks still had a 3-2 lead, and just saw Hartnell’s game-tying goal. Jeez, how many lucky bounces did the Flyers have this series? If not for them, the Hawks may have swept them or won 4-1.

I know VerStig already checked in. I’m officially 4-0 in playoff games where I drank PBR. Sorry I didn’t figure it out sooner. What a game. I unfortunately got an urgent email on my phone the same moment Kaner scored. Next thing I knew I was being hugged and such and I stood there in shock for several minutes. Whatever, the tears eventually flowed as I knew they would. My father called me and just yelled “Kane GOALLLLLLLLLL!” in the phone. I’ve got countless emails, texts, and facebook messages to go through. One of my friends wrote “Congrats to all Chicagoans including Greenfield but mostly Greenfield.” It touched my heart. I have to go to work in just a few hours and I will show up in my Kane jersey however inappropriate that will be.
It’s a drunk rant but it is deserved. I will never forget this night. I miss home.

Congrats from Edmonton, where this Oiler fan has been rooting for the Hawks all playoffs.
I’ve seen every Stanley Cup since ‘63. You guys had a terrific team then, and have had many terrific teams since, but something always went wrong. Finally, it’s your turn, and long overdue. Enjoy tonight, enjoy tomorrow and Friday, enjoy the summer. I remember how sweet the summer of ’84 was and I wish you the same.
… and a special thought for a friend about my age, lifelong Blackhawks fan, too young to remember ‘61, died three years ago. So sorry he’s not around for tthis moment, but will raise a glass to him tonight. Cheers, Craig!

A report from the suburbs. Channel 5 just cut away from their extra-late newscast…Alison Rosati had an extra big and sincere smile on her face while reporting about the Blackhawks. Most of the newscast was devoted to our winning The Cup. They just showed one last picture of Wrigleyville…Clark street still full of people. In my usually quiet neighborhood (in the western suburbs), as the Blackhawks won the game, fireworks erupted from several locations. After a couple minutes, the sound of fireworks was equal to (or perhaps exceeding) that of celebrations for the last Bears Superbowl victory and the ’05 Sox World Series victory. This place is euphoric; so am I.
