I’m told this is in the wrong province, but it’s what popped up on google maps. So either there’s already a Toews Lake in Canada, and the internets haven’t picked up the new one in Manitoba yet, or they just fudged on location. W/E.

This is definitely not the lake… Manitoba’s legislature better not be able to name lakes in my province!

Hmm… further research suggests that lake’s name is “Bear Lake”, so that goes against the theory it was unnamed. Toews Lake is in that area, and is of similar size. Just not that one specifically.

Maybe the one directly to the west of it. None seem to have names that are known. I found out the first one was “Bear Lake” from a fishing website, nothing on this one.

There may be a reason why the lake itself has not yet been identified. Seems to be a bit of a backlash amongst our neighbors neighbours to the north.
