Probie's Border Crossing / Versteeg Goes to the Laughter House (Updated again)
Judging from the comments lately, Bob Probert causes just as much commotion in death as he did in life. So here's some lighthearted humor that shouldn't be too controversial. As usual, I attempt to parody different viewpoints. Choose your poison...
Probie's Final Border Crossing...

Still Fighting His Demons...

At the Gates...

Thanks to Byfuglie33 and Mike Martin (and even Chris Block) for unintentionally providing some of the fodder for this post, and to Campbell32 for the link below.
Here's an excerpt from an article by Mitch Albom that sums up Probie very well:
He was 45 when he collapsed Monday afternoon. News spread quickly around here - "Bob Probert died?" - and we were stunned because he seemed so indestructible.
But no one is indestructible. Who knows what finally took him? But it took him too soon. Even to the end, you wanted Probert to make it. He should not be remembered by the worst he did, and he cannot be whitewashed by the best. But whether an opponent, an image, an addiction or a past, Bob Probert was always fighting something. He can lay down his arms now. And finally be at peace.
I didn't know where to post this without hogging the FanPost section, so I figured I'd add it here.
Versteeg Goes to the Laughter House...

That's a rec once again, CNS.
And props to you for using Richard Harris when he was portraying Dumbledore as God. (Big Harry Potter fan if you can’t tell)
I have witnessed the 2005 World Series championship, Mark Buehrle's perfect game, and the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup championship in my lifetime.
You would think it would be easier to find a photo of a white haired, long bearded guy
It came down to Dumbledore or Gandalf. DD obviously won. Thanks CSF

Rec
Even though I can’t see it now at work I know I’ll Rec it later.
39 years of pain vaporized by one OT goal.
sigh- rec'd
the FanPost is truly your medium.
Good to see Probie sportin’ the Indianhead in the afterlife- werever he ends up.
June 30, 2010. We will rue this day.
I followed your shameless thread plug
and, as usual, this is hilarious.
But the backward name and number? Tsk, tsk- not up to the high bar you’ve established for yourrself.
B+

Don't you know?

Nice save.
Great additions as well. Especially liked the hell and heaven closed due to terror, but Dollar Bill’s Bistro welcoming with open arms. Classic.
It's the Chicago Blackhawks man...
You always seem to get all my jokes. Not sure what that says about you, but thanks
I actually knew that cliff would point out the backwards numbers when I was editing the photos, so I had my answer prepared ;)
Since I’m just a beginner at this stuff, it’s often hard to figure out how to turn a concept into reality. And just as hard to find the material (thank you Google images).
Most of the time I sit there wondering “Will anyone actually get this?” and I spend a lot of time modifying the photoshops and/or text. Still not sure if I’m dumbing down the content or making things clearer though? According to my Photobucket account, this post had over 200 views in the first 1-1/2 days, but only 5 comments. I’m not sure what that means. Maybe I’m a very specific taste? Or maybe you guys have no taste? Dunno…

Nice
I don’t know what I did, but you’re welcome.
Nice timing
I just updated the fanpost. Not sure if you could see the Versteeg comics yet…
Your article in the CI was the inspiration for the last Probie comic, “Probie at the Gates.” Especially the 3rd frame.

Rec'd.
So, when do we change “Fanpost” to “CNS’ domain. – The rest of us just laugh here?”
It makes me think twice about posting the one I have half typed now. LoL
(It is a true story, but that might make it even more strange, I’m afraid.)
Everyone dies. It is the only true and lasting justice in life.
Haha
I’ve got one more monster fanpost that I started working on during the finals that I have procrastinated in finishing. After that, I’ll probably give it a break. (or so I say now)
I’m sure your post will be a huge hit. I’ll actually guaranty it! Is it the one about the dream you emailed me about a couple months ago? Looking forward to seeing it.

Well....
Since I posted it before seeing your comment, yeah.. It was kinda sorta related to the dream that I emailed you (or whoever) about a couple of months ago. LoL…
I don’t have an internet connection here in Afghanistan that allows me to do a lot of video stuff. It would take forever to D/L the clips, and even longer to U/L the finished product.
Might mess with it a little bit after I get home – but not right away. Got other plans then!
Does anyone know when tickets for the home opener go on sale? I’m planning on being there.

Bumpin' you up to another A+
on accounta the extra credit.
Jebus, is that hilarious! Sitting in my lonely office pissing my pants here. There is a lot going on- it’s like freeze-framing a Simpson’s episode. I’m sure I didn’t catch everything, but “Tip me!” alone was worth it.
Two comments: I kept waiting for Stan to say he wouldn’t steer Steeger wrong. Too obvious?
Also, that “mirror universe” thing. I’m calling bullshit. I mean, how do you know?

THAT"S PERFECT! I’ve been having issues with the final frame because it needed a statement like that to go with the “S” flipping on. And “too obvious”?? Have you seen my work?? I could add “Doh!” after almost every sentence.
How do I know? Scroll up. The proof is right there. Again, if it’s on the internet…
