"We're All Doomed!"
Why No One Will Make The Playoffs
Maybe it's the off-season ennui, maybe it's my rubbish sense of humour but this made me chuckle..
from Battle of California on SBNation: Awful Hockey, Great Blog (picked up from Puck Daddy)
For my money the funniest predictions are those for the Penguins, Flames, Flyers (just because it's a dig at Pronger ) and, of course, Scum...
Has a lot more credibility than The Hockey Network's own crystal-ball gazing efforts..

I love Battle of California
they remind me more of us than any other SBN blog i’ve read. The comments are also hilarious, especially the long, detailed thread about “phantom shit”….oh god. my brain died a little reading that.
happy ninja is happy....and wants to share its new toy!
oh, I'm so glad you said this
I was dying of laughter reading that, and agree they remind me of SCH. And the 2 spaces after sentences part – I always do that and it irritates the hell out of me that they disappear from the site.

i thought two spaces
was an anachronistic ‘typewriter’ thing.

It is a "typewriter" thing
and became unnecessary with the software used today. Personally, I find double spacing annoying when I am reading something composed on a computer.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene."
I was raised on 2 spaces.
I’m forever trying to correct my daughters and they tell me I’m nuts. I tell them that’s a different debate.

Isn’t that the MLA format? Officially, two spaces is the convention.

I was taught two spaces was correct in my typing class many eons ago.
How would you like a job where, every time you make a mistake, a big red light goes on and 18,000 people boo?
damn youngsters (and computers)

Two spaces. I will slap a punk who only uses one
“Oh well popular usage has one space,” Yeah, and popular usage also has u standing in for you, 2 standing in for two, and ur standing in for both you’re and your. Popular usage can suck my wang.
There are only two seasons in Chicago; Hockey and Construction.
+1

I was taught two spaces also
But that was the fixed width courier font that most typewriters have. Variable width fonts like Times or Arial do fine with only one. I broke myself of the habit in 1998 or something.
To fix someone else’s poor form, you can take a paragraph with double spaced sentences, drop it into Word, then use the search/replace function to replace with . Works like a charm!
Funny
I take wrongly single spaced end of sentence papers and use the search/replace function to replace with two spaces.

I learned to type on a computer in the 90s
We were taught to double space after periods. It’s a more recent trend than you think.

I'm not sure what the Massachusetts Lobstermen's Association
has to do with this argument? Unless of course you’re at sea right now.

Yeah, it’s not the standard anymore, MLA, APA or otherwise. Double spaces went out with monocles, old timers!

Don't crack on my monocle
It’s the only way I can see to read and post on SCH

I noticed they sounded a bit like us too
Went off topic quite a bit – one space, two space thread sounded like an argument we would have here.
