Jersey Numbers

I have used it forever, in every hockey, baseball, or football game I have always used the number 27. Jeremy Roenick was my favorite player growing up so that may have something to do with it!

Been my number since Pop Warner football, used it in High school, and all video sports games I play in which I make myself.

It’s my favorite number.

for two of my favorite Chicago athletes, Walter Payton and Kerry Wood. I’m also partial to 13, so that would be my 2nd choice.

maybe 23. It’d be cool to have a great 23 for both of the UC’s tenants.

My favorite number for the current hawks is 81. No real significance behind that statement. I think 81 has an inexplicable asthetic appeal to it. Or maybe it’s just Hossa.

One number each for defenseman, forward and goalie.
Why those numbers? 3 & 9 aren’t available and I just like #30.

I’d have to go with 4. It’s been my number since forever ago. If you forced me to be traditional, I’d go with 40 or 30 (for Tretiak). I want to say 44, but Bertuzzi has ruined that number for me now.

it’s my lucky number, and my birthdate and a past jersey number multiple times for other sports. Though I’d probably play defense, so idk….

Was going for 44 in high school and the coach incorrectly told me it was taken, so I went to 48 and have worn it for everything, ever since.

Wanted to wear it through HS and Collegiate Football but was told by the powers that be “that number is not available, period.” Recently tried to get my assigned work truck renumbered to 13, but that was shot down by a superstitious Assistant Director.

I’ve worn 23 in every sport I’ve played, and so does my sister.

J.R. and Tony Amonte had the most influence on me growing up playing hockey. Some of my favorite J.R. memories are of him torching the Blues during his prime.

I was randomly given 2 when I was a kid and I always liked Bill White. 2 stuck with me for the most part through high school so I think of it as MY number, sorry Duncs… Second choice would be 15 which I did have in a league once.

I usually play D, and out of admiration/respect for Ray Bourque and Paul Coffey I go with 77. Looks cool, few other guys have it. Good stuff.

Doug Wilson will probably always be my favorite player ever, even though I’m a little pissed at him right now. I currently have a Duncan Keith jersey and will soon have a Hjammer jersey. Together they make 24…sort of… And yes, I have a weak spot for defensemen.

Loves me some defense [in every sport] and love those numbers too. Way to wear it Duncs.
Otherwise, probably 8, and recently Bolland’s 36 has grown on me. Most likely due to my severe man crush on him.

I’ve always had it for everything, last official time was NIU lacrosse,early 90’s. Ok, I only had it for one semester there, but still… Needless to say, I was pretty damn excited to see Dat Horsa Guy wearing my number, he must really like me….

I was bad luck for them poor bastards on the other team.

More so cause 5 is my lucky number. And when I was getting into sports Bosworth was rocking the mullett bigtime. Sort of lame reason but, we all sort of have goofy reasons for our numbers I guess.

Ryno and Jordan, I think they speak for themselves on why. Those two were Chicago for the 1980’s and 90’s.

I’ve never liked even numbers or multiples of 5, and for some reason I’ve always liked the number.

Plus I think I could improve on the stigma from the preevious wearers, even though I would never play goalie

I was a huge fan of Savvy and Amonte as a kid, so I combined the two when asked what number I’d like in HS hockey.

Wore it for every I played baseball and hockey. Was a coincidence the first three times, then after that I asked for the number.

mostly cuz as the ppl who have met me know my pompousness and arrogance. therefore number 1 has always been my choice in all sports i’ve played and made up players
