I know with the Hawks winning the Cup we should expect a lot of media exposure, but EA sports is taking it to another level with this new game. Between the '10 Kane cover and tv spots, the '11 Toews cover, the Team Toews v. Team Kane ads, and this new Dunc ad, it's safe to say that our Hawks are matching and probably exceeding 'Pens-type' facetime.

The amount of press is really not that surprising.
Top three market in the US. Original six team. First championship in 49 years. Rabid and continually growing fanbase. Remarkable turnaround in four short years (or less depending on your interpretation). And most importantly; a lovable, charismatic and young championship squad the likes we have not seen for quite some time.
I, for one, welcome all the press they get.

I definitely think it's surprising
that the Hawks got back to back covers on the game and that almost every ad I’ve seen pretty much exclusively features a Hawk player.
I get the general press level being high. Considering where the NHL ranks in terms of the major sports, this game is one of the biggest advertisments for hockey.
Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing the hawks everywhere, it’s not a bad thing at all from my perspective.
Ditto for Badgerdano
Back to back covers is a little shocking.
I was just referring to the general hype though.
And I didn’t mean to suggest that you didn’t think it was good. Mah bad.

Was that Wiz
flattening Seabrook?
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene."
??
All of the opposing players featured are flyers players. So no, it wasn’t Wiz.
Ditto for Badgerdano
I know Wiz is on the Islanders now
I meant that as a joke. He gets flattened pretty good.

I have a friend
that worked on that commercial. He said it was shot in Rockford where the Ice Hogs play, and that Duncs was a great guy and easy to work with. They shot it with minor leaguers and actors that had some hockey experience. My friend is not a big hockey fan, but was amazed when Keith was “saucering” the puck perfectly every time. None of the other players could do that.
what does that mean?
saucering?

I asked the same question
Apparently it is when the puck sails in the air, without wobbling. Think of a spiral in football. I imagine its hard to do once on demand, much less take after take.
sauecr passes
land smoothly on the ice, so they are easier to collect.
Do I know what rhetorical means?
Love all the Blackhawks Attention.
EA is spreading their love for the Blackhawks around. First Kaner, Toews and not Keith. Love it!
i predict
this will be prophetic.
1. he’s one of the best hockey players in the world.
2. his offensive production improved hugely last year.
3. seebs continues to improve, allowing Dunc to take more chances.
4. point per game in playoffs.
5. an increasing tendency to join the rush, especially in late, down-a-goal situations.
6. this team lost a goal a game of production this summer.
the only thing missing is the shot. from what i know of the guy, i bet he’s working on this. plus, he’s a ridiculous passer anyway.
Do I know what rhetorical means?
I don't think you finished your prediction my friend.
But I think you got the point across— more points out of Duncs?
You must have me confused with someone else, I have never been to Chicago.
[whispers] I sexually assaulted Scottie Pippen in 1997.
Just for reality sake
Uh look at 21 sec mark. Full set of teeth? Just sayin..

What are you sayin?

yeah I couldn't figure that out either
the 21 second mark doesn’t show Dunc’s teeth at all. Dunc got his teeth fixed, so they’d all be there in the game and in real life anyway.
Ditto for Badgerdano
sorry got it wrong
It’s the 25 sec mark. I may be wrong but, isn’t sort of not smart to wear falsies during a game. Couldn’t you sort of choke on em if they got knocked out. Don’t really think it’d be the same as a mouthpiece.

I'm no dentist
but aren’t some false teeth removable and some aren’t? And anyway, this is a video game, remember. it’s not real life!
