SCH Northeast Edition, Thu Dec 8, 2011 Blackhawks @ NYI
I am planning on going to the game against Islanders on Dec, 8 and am polling to see if anybody else in the region is also doing the same. Last year some SCH folks here met up before the Hawks shit the night away against the Rangers (who they will be visiting again in Feb 2012). Last time the Hawks visited the Isles, we forgot to try to get together, many of us showed up, but none of us knew others were in fact there!
This is a good chance for folks out east to see Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook all in action! Oh and maybe even John Scott! Who knows, the last time I saw the Hawks in Long Island some dead guy was playing too! (Kim Johnsson, but that other guy that got with him, Nick Leddy might show up in his stead)
Good tickets are available by multiple outlets.
If you plan on going, post a comment!

There's about an 80-85% chance that I'll be on Long Island then
and if I am, I’m definitely planning on going to the game. I won’t know for sure for a few more weeks though

I'd love to go
but I’m not optimistic about my chances of getting off work early enough on a Thursday night for this, at least not considering how busy things are right now.
If the outlook changes I’ll be sure to let you know!
/sighs heavily, while pretending it’s not insane jealousy…

awww
you should get mysteriously ill around that time, and unable to make it to work. In fact, the only specialist able to figure out what’s wrong with you is in Long Island.
/totally legit excuse

I have been searching desperately on the web for the any excuse to be sent to the area for training… The closest I have gotten with the boss is either Philadelphia or Boston.

Just tell your boss there was a death in the family
works every time

driving from Philly to NYC isn't bad
I’ve done it in less than 2 hrs. Plus then you don’t have to wait for public transport, since you can just drive to Nassau.

heh,
now all I have to do is convince him to send me to Philly…
BTW Frank, the boss knows all my family, darn it!

heh,
I have worked for him for 12 of the last 16 years. Including 1.5 years as a supervisor, kind of hard not to know him and vice versa… Especially in a company that only had 20 people in 95’ and now has 200+! Saw him at my fathers, father-in-laws, grandfathers, grandmothers, and mother-in-laws funerals. Plus I attended his mothers, and grandmothers. I would of invited him to my last wedding, but he thought I was an idiot for getting married again, or maybe he was wondering what kind of idiot would agree to be my fourth wife… Either way, I didn’t want to invite someone who might be laughing through the entire thing!

I have my Ticket(s)
Section 123 Row A.
Notice I said “Tickets”, it was cheaper for me to buy 2 seats in an row A in a corner section where the Hawks are 1st & 3rd shooters then just one ticket.
So this means I have one available for the taking (if the price is right) for anybody who is or will happen to be in the NYC area that evening. E-mail me if interested.

Anyone have any interest in meeting up for a drink or 10 before the game?
At this point I’m u p to 98% certain that I’ll be here, and if so I’ll be at the Marriott that’s literally right behind the Coliseum. It’s got a sports bar that’s decent, and it was certainly packed with both NYI and PIT fans when I met some friends there before going to the game when the Pens were in town like a month ago

it's packed because it's literally nothing but parking lots & desolation around Nassau.
but I’m up for meeting any SCHers making it out to the game

Yeah I know
I’m now in my 8th consecutive week of staying at this Marriott Monday – Friday…

Be happy
You can go outside, see the sun, smell fresh air, watch live TV and talk to friends and family! You don’t get any of that on a Submarine!

I'd rather spend 8+ consecutive weeks on a sub than on Long Island
at least on a submarine you’re not, you know, on Long Island

Take it from me,
You would change your tune within a week or two! I have a little experience in the matter! lol

You raise a fair point as I've never served on a sub
But on the other hand while I like the guys I work with I otherwise fucking hate this place
